Is Agentic Advertising destined to be yet another layer, another fee on top of the ad tech maze? Will we as an industry be forced to live with the Ad Tech Tax forever?
As we move into the Agentic era, we need to learn from what worked well for buyers and sellers in Programmatic, carrying over the benefits that Programmatic introduced. However, if every intermediary has an agent that collects a percentage of media spend, then Agentic Advertising will recreate the very problems buyers and sellers have today.
The first step: we need to hit the reset button on economics for both buyers and sellers, ensuring Agentic Advertising provides the most efficient channel for media buying and selling. Read more about what we're doing at Optable to fix it in AdExchanger.

While I'm genuinely sorry to see anyone experience a job loss, my brain cannot comprehend 250+ employees working on Privacy Sandbox.
Google, Magnite, and DoubleVerify all using the "DV" moniker is totally not confusing and a great job by product marketing
ICYMI: @Permutive is working with Google to enable PPS and Seller Defined Audiences (SDA) for publishers. Great case study here with TelevisaUnivision!
The first test of Google's publisher provided audiences, and an early test of seller defined audiences, is out!
TelevisaUnivision found PPS could fully monetize their audience, but Google still isn't sharing how using PPS impacts CPMs.

2. Xandr Monetize (SSP) buyers now have a "singular audience definition uniformly across publishers as opposed to going publisher by publisher individually."
Nomenclature Wars: Can a PMP campaign qualify as "SDA"? We need an umbrella term for selling standardized audience definitions programmatically, and many in the ecosystem are conflating the term "SDA" with that...

Just another reason why it’s important for the ad tech industry to collaborate and support @IABTechLab and SDA and ensure privacy first business continuity. – at Manhattan, NY
New: Google's plan to replace third-party tracking cookies with new privacy-focused tech has hit yet another snag. A key web standards group says the Topics API proposal has privacy issues. "We do not want to see it proceed further." businessinsider.com/web-stan…
It's time for the industry to rally around Seller Defined Audiences
We did test Topics API, and the results were pretty disappointing—a lot of pages on high-value topics get misclassified. Alternatives like Seller-Defined Audiences might be a better fit for publishers and brands anyway
