Ok, now that I have an 8 hour delay at the Portland airport, I'm going to bask in the afterglow of #ESA2023 by giving highlights from the 3 sessions on #zoogeochemistry. Interested in challenging ecological paradigms about bottom-up control of ecosystems? Buckle up...

We opened a Mara River biodiversity exhibit at @museumsofkenya back in March. 500k Kenyan kids/yr will hear @AmandaSubalusky and I talk about protecting the Mara. None of this happens w/o our NMK colleagues. Very humbling. Check it out. It's beautiful. @UF_CLAS @UF @UF_Research – at Nairobi, Kenya

Just over 1 hour left for #GatorNationGivingDay... Help us fund a summer of fieldwork for @UF students through WILDS: givingday.ufl.edu/campaigns/…
What was your most formative experience as an undergrad? For me, it was doing field ecology and discovering a career path I love. Help us give those experiences to other undergrads with #GatorNationGivingDay by making a donation to WILDS: givingday.ufl.edu/campaigns/…

The hippo spa! The tilapia that share the pool with our hippos serve multiple purposes. They help to keep the water clean by eating the hippo dung & they eat dead skin off of the hippos to keep them clean & free of micro-organisms. This is referred to as a symbiotic relationship.
