Considered this widespread WFH situation, I am planning to arrange a Python For Designers intensive online course starting next Friday. Two classes per week (Mon & Fri, 16:00 GMT+1) for a total of eight classes. I need a minimum of 4 students to start. DM if interested!

Does anyone know why the valid range for font weight values in OpenType (and thus also #variablefonts) is 1–1000 instead of 0–1000? I’d guess it was discussed long ago and/or revisited for the font variations spec, but can’t find any logical explanation.
