Today the new Federal Reserve Chair was sworn in. Kevin Warsh is pro-crypto and interested in furthering its reach. I believe we are likely to see the Clarity Act passed along soon, which is positive for crypto in general. What I’m more interested in is Bloombergs statement earlier this week in their article titled: “SEC to propose tokenized stock framework as Wall Street efforts deepen.” This confirms the @SECGov is preparing to release a statement on the guidelines for tokenizing stocks on blockchains. We are now waiting on the official announcement by the SEC for what their definition of tokenizing stocks will be moving forward. We do however have a statement from them from the beginning of this year. The statement titled, “Statement on Tokenized Securities,” by the SEC outlines some of their previous expectations and concerns. We can see that the SEC will most likely only support the most secure class of tokenization possible. This would rule out a lot of the current RWA’s that are on-chain because they are distributed by a third party and the tokens don’t have the same voting or dividend rights as the underlying asset would have. We have to consider a new solution that fits properly into their guidelines… Let’s analyze the @chia_project and their relationship with @permutocapital Permuto has been working with the SEC’s Division of Investment Management for the past couple of months. The feedback they have received has been positive and fits into the official framework. We can confirm this in @hoffmang’s March article, “For Those About to Rock.” Permuto Captial proposes an interesting solution for the tokenization of stocks. Their plan is to launch Trusts which will handle the exchange of stocks to tokenize them on the Chia blockchain. The tokenized stocks carry an Asset Certificate and a Dividend Certificate. These AC/DC’s will solve the issue we are facing with current (mock) “tokenized stocks” which don’t have voting or dividend rights… I’m hoping we hear first from the SEC within the next 2 weeks about their official framework for tokenized stocks moving forward. Followed by the official filing of the first Trust by Permuto Capital. MSFT launches first and then Broadcom. What do you think will happen when Permuto IPO’s and the SEC approves the launch of their first Trust? The company that names Chia as the ONLY blockchain where this technology can be securely built.
