bro this is literally good news that increases the confidence in the curves. a 48-bit prng is not a cryptographic hash. nobody broke any cryptography here, claude just reverse engineered how public parameters were generated 30 years ago. the original engineers didn't make any notes. the discovery strongly suggests the seeds don't introduce any weaknesses or backdoors, like many believed. the inputs turned out completely plausible and benign.

JUST IN: The man who stopped the school shooting in Bend, Oregon, has been identified as 36-year-old Kalub Giamanco.
Giamanco, a carpenter, was reportedly driving home for lunch when he heard gunshots.
After hearing the gunshots, Giamanco, who has a concealed carry permit, followed the suspect into the school.
He then shot and killed 16-year-old John J Griffin moments after the teen opened fire into a special education classroom.
Giamanco, who has two children of his own who attend the school, is family friends with one of the victims, a 7-year-old who uses a wheelchair and was shot in the face.
The 7-year-old survived and is in the hospital.
Three children at Silver Rail Elementary School were killed. Their ages are 5, 8, and 11.
According to Giamanco's brother, Giamanco doesn't feel like a hero because he feels guilty for not being able to save more children.

Introducing Magnetar from Microsoft Research, the first zkVM that is: (1) general-purpose (RV64), (2) post-quantum from standard hashes alone (no curves, no lattices, no Poseidon), and (3) built for recursion.
Despite its conservative security, it is the fastest zkVM: 7.2–8.7 MHz on a laptop, 10–39× faster than existing zkVMs across 15 workloads! An optimized version reaches 9.5–12.8 MHz.

I've seen many positive comments in the last 24hrs about the new @chia_project site design. Here's one thing I found particularly intriguing upon browsing... 💡
Go to the "About" page (chia.net/about) or see the red boxes below. 80+% of the content is attempting to hammer one key #Chia theme into the mind of browsers:
"We're a legitimate, ethical, responsible blockchain company that respects the legal environment, and if you utilize our networks or partner with us, you won't have to fear waking up one morning and discovering your project is at the mercy of a regulatory agency crackdown."
There's a very specific reason for this arrangement (besides the obvious), and I think we'll learn more shortly...
