30 years ago today, Michinoku Pro put on a defining event in Japanese pro wrestling history. We covered that show in depth with @Alan4L earlier this year ⬇️

Just saw this on instagram, apparently Joe Doering is fighting a brain tumor for the third time. Horrible news, as he's been fighting cancer for ten years now.
The gofundme's been online since September but apparently it's still relevant, here's the link: gofundme.com/f/help-joe-pin-…

absolutely gobsmacked. we used to have a running joke that wherever you went in the wrestling world, diggers would show up. even randomly bumped into him at a beer festival! he was a lovely man and always a joy to be around. horrible horrible news. heartbroken for his family.
Unfortunately I have some sad news to share with the Irish/UK/European graps community
Ian Dignam has unfortunately passed away
Due to the disparate nature of social media his family have asked me to pass on the news
Condolences can be shared here rip.ie/death-notice/ian-dign…

Ah this is awful news, Ian was a lovely fella and I always enjoyed talking to him when we used to bump into each other at the wrestling.

Awful news to get today. Sad to have missed it previously. Ian was a gent and I got to hang out with him again a few times this year which was always harder in a "post" wrestling world.
I'll think of him every Birthday as we always used to share it over Carat weekend 💚

Awful sad news. Ian was always a constant at every show I've been to in the continent. The chill character that you always needed in a group. Incredibly friendly, and present in every wrestling rabbit hole conversation that was had in various places. Rest easy, pal.

Absolutely awful news - Ian was a lovely lad whenever I ran into him (usually in Germany). He's going to be a big miss on these weekenders, that's for damn sure.
Another unfortunate reminder to always take the photos.

Today marks 10 years since I began covering Dragongate for @voiceswrestling. Along the way, I've made a number of great friends, covered a lot of great shows, and enjoyed a lot of DISCOURSE.
Here's a collection of my favorite things that I've written for VOW:

This is the hypothetical Shun Skywalker comp DVD that I referenced on this show. Loads of forgotten, great matches that deserve to be remembered. #dragongate
Brand new OTVG with BOLD CLAIMS, discourse on “contempt consumption”, a Dragon Kid health update, and more. A very “in the pocket” OTVG. @openvoicegate @voiceswrestling

Great audio, the kind of HOF discussion that I really enjoy. I'm still a "no" on both of these guys, but they have a much stronger case than some realize. And Alan is right - we underrate Generico's peak.
It's WON Hall Of Fame season and I was delighted to be joined by @ToddMartinMMA to discuss the candidacies of Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn! Nearly 90 mins of fun chat with Todd.
