It's been such an honour to represent people impacted by sickle cell disease through @AuSickle. Thank you @JacintaAllanMP and all policymakers who made this possible
Back in October, on my birthday, I introduced the AgnesMN K2000 each Small Business Initiative🎉
This initiative was created to support small business owners affected by Sickle Cell Disease in Zambia. When something is impossible, there is always a way.

Each of these recipients represents resilience, creativity, and the drive to grow. I’m excited to support their journeys and can’t wait to see the impact they’ll continue to make for the next group they will support.

In Australia, every newborn gets a simple, free ‘heel prick’ bloodspot test - because catching things early can change a child’s whole future.
Now we’re expanding that screening to include sickle cell disease - making Victorian babies the first in the country to be tested.
Winnie and Andrew know why this matters.
Their little boy Kiki wasn’t diagnosed until he was one.
Hospital visits. Endless tests. Fear and uncertainty no parent should have to carry.
An earlier diagnosis would have saved their family a lot of shock and trauma.
It’s why we’re expanding the program to 35 conditions. Because early intervention saves critical time in diagnosis.
It means families can get the healthcare they need faster - and our littlest Victorians can get treated sooner.

This World Sickle Cell Day we urge policy-makers @Mark_Butler_MP @healthgovau to make it easy for Sickle Cell Warriors to access therapies that are not available in Australia. Help us highlight this condition on a day like this ‼️‼️
