So much cope in the responses. Even if you hate the media & don't believe the polls, it's inarguable the GOP is spending the vast majority of its 2 most precious resources (time & money) in the final weeks of the campaign defending deep red areas: $8M in NE, $5M in SC, $5M in KS, $17M in Iowa, $127M in TX, $144M in OH. Trump isn't traveling to OH, AK, TX and NE because of bullshit polls or media bias. He's is trying to activate MAGA voters to stave off a blue wave. Maybe he'll be successful. It feels worth asking whether Georgia is “still” Georgia politically. A decade ago, it voted 7 points to the right of the nation. In 2024, just 0.7. Wave cycles can accelerate realignment. Virginia has voted blue in every federal statewide race since 2006.

In the current national environment, assuming that's D+8.5 nationally, Democrats would have a 46% chance of taking the Senate if results are as correlated with presidential results as they were in 2020-24. They'd have a 56% chance if they were as correlated as 2018.
