while we're here, i don't want kendra or carter on the jl. they are jsa characters, that's where the human hawks should be. shayera not being on the jl currently is honestly really irritating given how she's theoretically the most popular incarnation of the character.

Hope im not being called larper because of growing up watching Shayera of DCAU. A lot of though of mine that changed, but it doesnt mean the love disappear! Well, only have manga, anime and cartoon network, disney, at that time.

DCAU Hawkgirl is genuinely one of the best written superheroes in any cartoon. The scene where she puts Grundy out of his misery is one of the most beautifully written and heartbreaking moments in all of comic book media.

so there is a book from 2008 called hawkman companion that explores the history of hawkman/hawkgirl/hawkwoman etc along with interviews on writers & artists that have worked on them in the past and with me being the local hawkmates historian, of course I own it (for YEARS)

comic shayera thal hol/hawkwoman: - father was a military commander who raped her mother when she was 13 - father paid her parents to keep their mouth shut & they took it - mother dumped baby shayera onto the streets - mother was racist & was murdered at 23 - shayera was sold into a sexual trafficking ring until her facist grandfather finds her at an adoption center at 10 years old & adopts her after his own daughter died - her grandmother left her mother behind after she got rich it's classic thanagar really

Justice League Unlimited #24 PROVES Mark Waid is at his best on this title when the team is tearing itself apart and disagreeing on how to move forward. The drama is written EXTREMELY well. I loved the little "Ray-" from Hawkman, who I was glad was included. JLU is hit or miss,
