The Anishinabek Police Service is happy to share that the 38-year-old female who was reported missing from Fort William First Nation has since been located and is safe.
The Anishinabek Police Service extends its condolences to the Hamilton Police Service, Durham Regional Police Service, and RCMP following the tragic deaths of their members. We stand alongside you as you grieve.
Our hearts are also with the officers’ families, partners, and loved ones as they carry the full weight of these losses into the coming days, weeks, months and years.
Three officers in two days. There are no adequate words to capture how profoundly this will impact all who serve, whether in uniform or as professional staff.
They say the smallest act of kindness is rarely as small as it feels to the person receiving it. If someone in your life is struggling today, send a text. Call them. Let them know you’re concerned and that help is available. There is no shame in asking for help, and certainly no shame in accepting it.
You are not alone.
Our thoughts are with the @CalgaryPolice officer who was shot and injured following a traffic stop yesterday.
We extend our support to their family, loved ones, and every member of the CPS, and wish the officer a full and speedy recovery.

Today, the Durham Regional Police Service is mourning a profound loss following a tragic motor vehicle collision near the Ontario Police College involving two Constables in Training (CIT) who were travelling to training.
It is with deep sadness that I share that one CIT has lost their life, while the other remains in life-threatening condition.
During this difficult time, our focus is on supporting the families of our CIT's, as well as their classmates, instructors, friends, and members of our Service who are grieving this tragic loss. We will continue to ensure they receive the care and support they need.
We ask that the public respect the privacy of the families and all those affected as they navigate this unimaginable tragedy, and as notifications continue.
The circumstances surrounding the collision remain under investigation by the Ontario Provincial Police, and we will not be providing any further details at this time.
- Chief Peter Moreira
We extend our heartfelt condolences to our @DRPS colleagues following the tragic motor vehicle collision earlier today that resulted in the loss of one of their Constables in Training and left a second Constable in Training hospitalized with critical injuries.

Four years ago, APS shared its trilingual rendition of O Canada in English, French, and Anishinaabemowin.
Since then, it has led to unforgettable moments—from the Blue Jays and PWHL to OACP conferences and the FBI National Conference. Most importantly, it continues to be used in schools, where children are learning our national anthem in Anishinaabemowin.
Miigwetch to everyone who has watched, shared, and supported this journey. 🇨🇦 🪶
