Spirit’s workers shared personal information because their jobs required it, not so it could be sold to train AI. Thank you @SenWarren, @RepHorsford and dozens of Members of Congress for acting quickly to seek answers before this sale is final.
Innovation cannot come at the expense of workers’ privacy. @SenWarren and I are leading 119 of our colleagues from both parties and both chambers of Congress in urging Spirit Airlines and Google to protect workers’ sensitive personal information from identification, profiling, and misuse. Nearly 1,000 former Spirit Airlines employees in Nevada could be impacted. Their personal information should not be sold to train AI without strong, enforceable safeguards in place. THIS IS THE TIME TO CLOSE THE DEAL.
The House and Senate committees need to make their final push to reach agreement on a strong aviation safety bill.
Speaker Johnson and Leader Jeffries: use your leadership to help get it done.
House Armed Services: follow the safety recommendations in the Army’s own investigation. Support an enforceable ADS-B In requirement with cockpit traffic displays and audible alerts.
Finish the negotiations. Get a strong bill ready for a vote in the lame-duck session. Pass it before this Congress ends.
For the families of the 67 people killed—and everyone who boards an aircraft—this cannot slip into another year.
TWO CALLS. EVERY DAY.
Call Speaker Johnson and Leader Jeffries. Tell them: “Help the committees close the deal. Follow the evidence. Protect ADS-B In. Get this bill passed.”
If no one answers, leave a message.

Alaska and Hawaiian pilot contract talks are in the final stage. Union chairs explain why company leaders with the authority to finish the deal must come to the table ready to reach an agreement, just as pilots show up ready to do their jobs every day.
"This accident could have been prevented if the PSA Flight 5342 aircraft and the U.S. Army Sikorsky UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter had been equipped with integrated ADS-B In technology." -@ALPAPresident

Congress made a down payment on ATC modernization, but there's far more to do. Pilots are flying 21st-century planes through a 20th-century system. Pass the Modern Skies Act and finish the job. bit.ly/4zhwxWh

"It's time for action, action that was promised months ago." @NTSB Chair @JenniferHomendy at our Air Safety Forum. Congress must pass legislation with an integrated ADS-B In requirement, a key ROTOR Act provision and top NTSB recommendation after the Potomac collision.

Engage Episode 82: Part 2
Trip coverage shenanigans continue. Pilots are hearing the finger-pointing from management over trip coverage, ARCOS, auto-accept, and operational reliability, and many are asking a pretty simple question: How is this our problem?
Engage host First Officer Ryan Argenta sits down with Delta MEC Executive Administrator Captain Rich Wheeler, Scheduling Committee Chairman Captain Ian Turner, and Vice Chairman Captain Josh Cantrell to take that question head-on. They trace how years of staffing decisions, fragile rotations, exploding open time, unrestricted ARCOS batch calls, and growing reliance on PWA Section 23 M. 7 brought trip coverage to where it is today.
The group goes back to the beginning: how trips were covered before ARCOS, why nuisance calls became a problem, how pilots adapted using contractual tools like auto-accept and auto-acknowledge, and how M7 evolved from a rarely used emergency provision into what the committee describes as a routine scheduling tool. They also dig into the latest ARCOS developments, ongoing technology and implementation problems, and what pilots should and shouldn’t change about how they use the ARCOS system. There are two sides to every story. This episode gives pilots the history, context, and facts behind the trip coverage debate and asks who really owns the problem.

In September, Alaska-Hawaiian pilots spoke with passengers at Seattle and Honolulu airports about contract negotiations. After more than 18 months of bargaining, the pilots are seeking a fair agreement. Hear from the pilots’ union on why it’s time to finish the deal.
Capt. Duane Woerth, ALPA president on 9/11, shared with our Executive Board memories of that day, from the Oval Office to Sec. Mineta's Rapid Response Team. He shared with our Executive Board the tough decisions made during aviation’s darkest hours.

Today is the 43rd anniversary of the 1983 Continental Airlines Strike. During the strike, Continental ALPA pilots fought Frank Lorenzo for a better quality of life, holding the line for two years.
Thank you to all who held the line at Continental Airlines and earned the right to wear the ALPA Battle Star pin. We honor their unity and sacrifice.
We thank the HELP Committee for advancing Capt. Doug Ralph's nomination. His balanced perspective on what workers need & the business realities employers face is exactly what the Board needs as major airline industry contract negotiations get underway. bit.ly/4AJPuCs
"The NMB is the sole venue protecting the right of private-sector airline and rail workers to organize and bargain collectively," said @ALPAPresident. "We urge the full Senate to confirm Capt. Ralph without delay so the NMB can carry out its mission at full strength."
