Spirit’s workers shared personal information because their jobs required it, not so it could be sold to train AI. Thank you @SenWarren, @RepHorsford and dozens of Members of Congress for acting quickly to seek answers before this sale is final.
Innovation cannot come at the expense of workers’ privacy. @SenWarren and I are leading 119 of our colleagues from both parties and both chambers of Congress in urging Spirit Airlines and Google to protect workers’ sensitive personal information from identification, profiling, and misuse. Nearly 1,000 former Spirit Airlines employees in Nevada could be impacted. Their personal information should not be sold to train AI without strong, enforceable safeguards in place. Connections between pilot groups and good communication are how we win. Learning from the strategies, resources, and tactics deployed by other pilot groups helps us all pull in the same direction as One ALPA.

Congress needs to finish the job and fund air traffic control modernization. Today, @ALPAPresident joined @SecDuffy and other aviation industry leaders to call on Congress to fully fund the @USDOT's plan.
A special thank you to @NTSB Chairwoman @JenniferHomendy for joining me for a fireside chat and delivering an outstanding keynote at ALPA's 70th Air Safety Forum this week. We're lucky to have such a fierce safety advocate leading the Board.

Situational awareness saves lives. During his keynote address to #ALPAASF today, @ALPAPresident pressed Congress to mandate integrated ADS-B In technology as lawmakers work to reconcile separate aviation safety bills passed by the House and Senate.
In the 25 years since 9/11, ALPA has fought for and won major aviation safety and security improvements. But our work isn't done. Every commercial plane already in service can still fly without a secondary barrier. enotrans.org/article/honorin…
As we recognize Labor Day, I want to thank every ALPA member who has stepped up for our profession. Together, as we continue to choose solidarity over division and strategy over reaction, we make aviation safer and the piloting profession stronger.
Today, we celebrate the aviation professionals who make air travel possible. To every ALPA member, thank you for your dedication to safety, excellence and the passengers, cargo, and communities we serve. Your work continues to shape the future of aviation.
Today, we celebrate 95 years of @ALPAPilots. Aviation has transformed dramatically over the last 95 years, but one thing hasn't changed: ALPA pilots' commitment to safety. We're proud of what we've accomplished and ready for what's ahead. #ALPA95
Many ALPA pilots are in the air today, helping connect families and keep U.S. passengers and cargo moving as our nation marks its 250th anniversary. Thank you to our members who are spending time away from loved ones this Independence Day so others can celebrate with theirs.
This Canada Day, we're recognizing the dedication of our Canadian pilots, whose professionalism helps keep the skies safe while connecting passengers, businesses and cargo from coast to coast to coast. Thank you for all you do.
Keith Sonderling has been a steady partner to ALPA throughout his time at the Department of Labor, and we're glad to see him nominated for the permanent role. Since stepping in as acting secretary, he's brought stability and organization to the department.

@ALPAPresident tells @SenateCommerce Chairman @SenTedCruz that integrated ADS-B In technology is essential to preventing another aviation tragedy — and thanks him for his leadership on the ROTOR Act and pushing this critical mandate forward.

At yesterday's @SenateCommerce hearing, @ALPAPresident explained why pilots need integrated flight deck technologies and why alternatives to integrated systems - like Electronic Flight Bags - aren't sufficient. Thank you @SenDuckworth for asking this important question.

“I don’t know why anybody would be opposed to this. It’s a readily available technology...it’s been an NTSB recommendation for almost 20 years to have ADS-B In.”🔥 @ALPAPresident to Sen. @JerryMoran at yesterday's hearing, when asked why this life-saving tech mandate has stalled.
It was great to be among union brothers & sisters at the @AFLCIO Convention this week, tackling the issues that matter most to workers at this pivotal moment. Proud to be reelected to the Executive Council & be part of the unanimous reelection of @LizShuler & @STRedmond.

"We're asking lawmakers to take two good bills and take the best out of both.” @ALPAPresident tells Scripps News why it's not ROTOR Act versus ALERT Act — Congress should include the best parts of each in one strong aviation safety bill that closes critical gaps.
Congratulations @FedExPilots on ratifying a new contract after five years of pushing management to reach a deal. These pilots remained unified throughout bargaining and secured an agreement addressing compensation, retirement, scheduling, work rules, job protections and more.
"This ratification concludes a nearly five-year negotiation process and reflects the collective decision of the pilot group."
