When discussing #CSDDD during a @HudsonInstitute event, @USAmbEU warned that the EU's compliance mandate pushes U.S. firms to "focus on things other than their success." Thank you, Ambassador, for fighting against burdensome EU regulations.
Thank you @HudsonInstitute for hosting an important conversation on the real-world costs of the EU's Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence and Reporting Directives (CS3D and CSRD). These Directives will result in higher prices for EU consumers and a continuing steep decline in foreign direct investment in the EU. The Draghi Report warned about exactly this kind of drag on European competitiveness over two years ago. Europe must adjust course or else risk continued stagnation. youtube.com/live/oQ6ilcOedTU… Senior Fellow Harold Furchtgott-Roth laid out the numbers plainly in his report: CSRD's compliance costs could reach many billions of dollars, with recurring costs just as steep. CS3D's price tag could be even higher. Even after the EU's Sustainability Omnibus revisions last year, excessive burdens remain, such as unclear liability exposure, extensive reporting obligations, and extraterritoriality. Hopefully, the EU's guidelines for enforcing CS3D and CSRD will address these concerns. Otherwise, their economic impact on Europe will be severe.

Thank you @ehdomenech for your insights and guidance on permitting reform in a fireside chat with former Representative @garretgraves at the ACCF Energy & Economic Summit in New Orleans. #BuildPowerCompete.
Here’s a question we get a lot: how do projects get added to the Permitting Dashboard? Step 1: Go to permitting.gov Step 2: Send in a draft application Step 3: Meet the team Yes, it really is that simple.

In a piece for @afronews, former Rep. Albert Wynn (D-MD) is right to say Congress would be “outsourcing democracy” if it doesn’t deal with Europe’s #CSDDD, a foreign mandate that would harm U.S. small businesses. Read more: afro.com/opinion/how-minorit…

We applaud @RepCraigGoldman for standing up for American businesses against burdensome EU regulations like #CSDDD. Washington should protect U.S. companies from foreign mandates that threaten jobs, supply chains, and economic growth. Learn more: stopeuoverreach.com
European regulators are targeting American businesses with extreme and expensive regulations that drive up costs on all businesses. Watch @RepCraigGoldman on how the PROTECT USA Act would defend small businesses in his district from foreign government mandates.

EU extraterritorial reach must be addressed and US businesses must be PROTECTED from its compliance and cost burdens. accf.org/wp-content/uploads/…

We are grateful to @USAmbEU Puzder and members of Congress pressing for a transatlantic relationship built on growth — not regulatory overreach. The EU’s CSDDD and CSRD should not export costly mandates to U.S. companies or undermine American competitiveness. Clear, workable guidelines are essential. #StopEUOverreach
Had a great discussion with @EUCssrMcGrath and appreciate his welcoming Representatives @USRepMikeFlood, @RepFeenstra, and @RepRitchie to Berlaymont for that discussion. The more we meet the more we understand each other’s goals and objectives. U.S. and EU policymakers are working together to find solutions that grow our economies. American and European workers and businesses may be an ocean apart, but they often face the same risk from government overregulation. The upcoming guidelines on CSDDD and CSRD can provide the clarity necessary to avoid increasing the risk and expense of operating a transatlantic business. We stand ready to work with Commissioner McGrath and his team as needed to help assure a successful process.

Balanced trade requires cooperation from all parties. A year after the U.S.-EU Framework Agreement, Brussels continues to bend the rules. The EU’s #CSDDD still threatens to burden U.S. businesses with unnecessary compliance costs. Learn more: stopeuoverreach.com/ useu.usmission.gov/joint-sta…

American businesses shouldn’t have to be burdened by rules made abroad. @USAmbEU is protecting that notion and upholding U.S. sovereignty. Now it’s time for Brussels to answer. Learn more: stopeuoverreach.com/
.@POTUS President Trump and Commission President @vonderleyen secured the U.S.-EU Framework Agreement on Trade to remove barriers to transatlantic trade.  Now it's time for the EU to deliver.  Under the Framework Agreement, the EU committed "to ensure" that its Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (#CSDDD) and Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (#CSRD) "do not pose undue restrictions on transatlantic trade."    Extraterritorial provisions harm American businesses and workers, but it is not just the U.S. that will suffer.  Unless the EU changes course, these directives will burden EU and non-EU businesses of all sizes -- and European consumers are the ones who will ultimately foot the bill.  We welcome the opportunity to submit public comment and look forward to working with the @EU_Commission to align these measures with the Framework Agreement.  Full comments here: useu.usmission.gov/wp-conten…

New Report: Freight rail is a strategic economic and national security asset, moving 1.5B tons of goods a year. As Congress considers surface transportation reauthorization, ACCF Senior Policy Advisor @RA_Dillon warns that prescriptive rail mandates could reduce network capacity, raise transportation costs and push more freight onto congested highways. accf.org/new-report-freight-…

Thank you @aisisteel for your contribution to this important discussion!
AISI President and CEO Kevin Dempsey at the #PermittingReformForum hosted by @ACCFMedia: the domestic steel industry has invested about $45 billion in new plants and equipment since 2018. Continued growth depends on more energy production, permitting reform and strong trade enforcement.

CMMI was designed to test new healthcare payment models and save taxpayers money. A new ACCF CPR report by @DrCebiWilber, commissioned by @GovWaste, finds the opposite: CMMI added $5.4B in federal spending from 2011–2020 and is projected to add $1.3B more. accf.org/new-report-cmmi-has…

Talk about perfect timing. The same week the U.S. celebrates 250 years of independence 🇺🇸, Congress is taking up legislation to block the extraterritorial reach of @europeanunion mandates.
Europe once projected power through armies and navies. Today, it rules through regulation.
