Those using soil temperature to time #PoaAnnua applications this fall in Tennessee will likely fair better than those abiding to calendar dates. To say we're off to an atypical start is an understatement! @TennesseeGCSA @TnTurfAssoc @TVSFMA @utextension
The strongest heat dome on Earth right now is sitting on Tennessee.
Heat makes air swell. The hotter the dome, the higher the whole atmosphere stacks up.
Over Tennessee, the halfway point of the atmosphere is 19,665 feet up. That is higher than over the Sahara. Higher than the Middle East. Higher than anywhere else on the planet.
Nashville hit 100 yesterday and is forecast to do it again today.

Many thanks to the VA turfgrass industry leaders & supporters that have worked so hard to promote the @VTTurfgrass research program through the @TheVTF. (Come to the Blacksburg Field Day on 8/25 to see how some of those research dollars are being used.)

A question raised about this video- "Why did @540jimw look down at his pants after the swing? Was there something in the bowl?" No, not even the @VTTurfgrass team would go that far in staging the authenticity of this shot. (But it might have been previously discussed.) #vaturf

Stronger roots. Greater resilience. Smarter performance.
With Azo Root, powered by Azospirillum brasilense, you’re not just feeding your turf or plants — you’re enhancing root development at the biological level. The result? Improved nutrient efficiency, stronger root mass, and better overall plant performance under stress.
For golf course superintendents and horticulture growers alike, building a healthier root system is the foundation for long-term success — from playability and turf density to transplant vigor and quality.
