Even a small amount of Poa annua can disrupt ball roll in ultradwarf greens, especially during times when Poa annua is growing more vigorously than bermudagrass. More on managing Poa annua on Ultradwarf Bermudagrass Greens in @TnTurfAssoc magazine > issuu.com/leadingedgepubs/do…

Poa annua can be very disruptive to the playability, aesthetics and agronomics of ultradwarf bermudagrass greens. More on managing Poa annua on Ultradwarf Bermudagrass Greens in @TnTurfAssoc magazine > issuu.com/leadingedgepubs/do…
Those using soil temperature to time #PoaAnnua applications this fall in Tennessee will likely fair better than those abiding to calendar dates. To say we're off to an atypical start is an understatement! @TennesseeGCSA @TnTurfAssoc @TVSFMA @utextension
The strongest heat dome on Earth right now is sitting on Tennessee.
Heat makes air swell. The hotter the dome, the higher the whole atmosphere stacks up.
Over Tennessee, the halfway point of the atmosphere is 19,665 feet up. That is higher than over the Sahara. Higher than the Middle East. Higher than anywhere else on the planet.
Nashville hit 100 yesterday and is forecast to do it again today.

When most people have a day off, golf course maintenance teams are up early and working hard to get courses ready for play. Thanks for all they do!
Really appreciated the chance to visit with Erik Guinther on TN Turf Tuesday to discuss his team's approach for managing a historic Seth Raynor property on Lookout Mountain. Give it a listen @TennesseeGCSA @TnTurfAssoc @utextension podcasts.apple.com/us/podcas…

💧 Does water quality decrease plant growth regulator efficacy on hybrid bermudagrass?
A new study found that golf course managers can safely mix trinexepac-ethyl in hard water with no negative effect on growth suppression of bermudagrass.

Saturday morning podcasts…@UTTurfWeeds a great listen and sage advice…I agree, get to know your golf course when it torrentially rains…yesterday’s puddles gone…and the bots are going home.
Thanks to @AugustRocco for taking the time to show me around FireFly Golf Club and join TN Turf Tuesdays to chat about the construction process. In less than 30 days, it'll be Tennessee's newest golf course. podcasts.apple.com/us/podcas…

One of the most popular items on @ASGCA website; the Life Cycle chart. Realistic timeline for longevity of specific course items, including greens, irrigation system, tees & practice ranges. No 2 courses are the same; but this is a good starting point. tinyurl.com/s7bmbla

Tennessee golf was proudly represented on Capitol Hill for #NationalGolfDay 🇺🇸⛳️
TGCSA members Mark Stovall, Jay Willis, Bart Cash, Grayson Guthrie, and Paul Carter met with leaders and staff from the offices of Senator Bill Hagerty, Representative David Kustoff, and Representative Chuck Fleischmann to continue conversations surrounding the $1.9 billion impact golf has on the state of Tennessee.
The group discussed the economic, environmental, and community benefits golf provides across Tennessee, while advocating for the continued growth and support of the game statewide.
Thank you to everyone who took the time to meet with our team and support golf in Tennessee.
