I have received a letter from the PSNI relating to the peaceful protest on the Garvaghy Road and I will attend an interview in the period ahead.
Sinn Féin stood in solidarity with the residents of the Garvaghy Road to protect 28 years of peace.
Standing up for what is right is always the right thing to do.
Sinn Féin will continue to stand with the Garvaghy Road residents who should be allowed to live their lives free from sectarian intimidation, and with the people of the lower Ormeau road, who are also facing the threat of an unwanted march through their community.
There is no going back.

Portadown District has not only won the legal right and defeated nationalism using the law, but this has succeeded in showing up the whole rotten two tier system for what it is, including shining a light on the true extent of pro-nationalist political policing.
I’ve never seen such rage and fury across unionism/loyalism as tonight. Even those who didn’t support Drumcree, are nonetheless now infuriated and energised to fight back against the two tier system.
There is no self-respecting unionist or loyalist who could continue to support or engage with the PSNI after what they have done on our community. Their authority, credibility and the rule of law lies in tatters.
Jon Boucher thinks he’s politician and peacemaker; all we wanted was for him to be a policeman. He has failed. His smooth talking has worn thin.
Let me be clear where I stand:
1. The DUP should resign Emma Pengelly and turf O’Neill out of office. If unionism accepts this without consequence (and I mean, actual consequence) then unionism will accept anything. The DUP have declared no confidence in O’Neill. They don’t need a motion; follow it to its logical conclusion and eject her from office. Is a ministerial car and plush office worth more than fundamental principle?
2. Political representatives should resign from the policing board and declare no confidence in the Chief Constable.
3. Political and community representatives should disengage from PCSPs forthwith.
4. Community groups and representatives should disengage from PSNI on all issues.
There must be profound consequences. The PSNI were well warned; Boucher was listening to the dinner parties and believed he had read unionism/loyalism from his ‘sources’. He is about to find out just how badly he has misread it all.
The PSNI and Secretary of State made their bed. Let them lie in it.

The cost of the Policing of drumcree lies solely with the residents and their illegal protest.
If they had done the right thing and filled in an 11/3 Parades Commission protest application, the @PoliceServiceNI would have been able to have a proportionate policing operation to police the protest whilst the legal parade walked passed.
As usual Irish republicans didnt do that because it would have meant the Parades Commission could have made a ruling on the protest
That's why they want it illegal and unlawful.
Plus they have bussed in quite a few Provisional IRA leaders alongside convicted IRA Gunmen & Bombers, standing side by side with other IRA factions & the INLA.
Hence the amount of illegals blocking the road needing so many police to be on standby

Another convicted IRA terrorist adds his name to the Garvaghy Road campaign.
Meet Dermot Finucane…
In 1981, Finucane ambushed a British Army patrol in Belfast leaving a young soldier with multiple shot wounds from an AR-15 assault rifle. The soldier’s bones shattered as the military grade ammunition tore through his leg causing lifelong injuries.
After surrendering to authorities, Finucane was convicted and sent to Maze prison where his blood lust took a more hands on turn.
During an uprising, he chased down prison officer James Ferris, stabbing him three times in the chest with a chisel. Ferris, a 43 year old father of two, suffered a heart attack and died shortly afterwards.
Pushing towards the main gate, he stabbed three more guards in quick succession as they arrived for their day’s work. During the uprising, 20 prison officers were seriously injured including John Adams who miraculously survived being shot in the head.
Finucane escaped and fled to Ireland where he claimed to be too scared of British prison guards to serve his sentence.
In what was described at the time as “deeply offensive” by the British Prime Minister, the Irish judiciary blocked his extradition back to Britain.
To this day he has evaded justice for his crimes.
