Replying to @TAP_Portugal
@TAP_Portugal sold me a 4 tickets from Cairo to Lisbon via Brussels last night for 2700 dollars and now because the flight from Cairo was late, we’re stuck in Brussels. I’ve been flying TAP for almost 20 yrs and never been treated this poorly…

TAP booking site is happy to sell me 4 seats on the 20h55 flight to Lisbon for another 1828,44 euros. Now waiting to see if TAP / Egypt Air will tell me the flight is ‘sold out’ or we can’t be rebooked. If so, SHAME ON YOU, TAP.

TAP, step up and do something decent. You took my 2700 and now you ought to solve the problem not point at Egypt Air.

My hat's off to Fanny's fantastic work and to all our collaborators!
✨Exciting news! Our research on parallel decision computations is just out in @NatureNeuro ! nature.com/articles/s41593-0… With it, here goes my first attempt at a #tweetprint ! 🧵

You think you know what is an NFT? Well, think again... You are doing it wrong if you think about NFTs as pixelated images of punks, toads, or apes. It is not about the JPEG! A better mental model for thinking about NFTs 👇

This is by far the most personal (and longest) essay I’ve ever had published. It's about memory, compulsion, and the value of experience. Mostly, to borrow from Joan Didion, it's about the stories we tell ourselves in order to live. aeon.co/essays/a-dispatch-fr…

Excited and proud to share my postdoc work out @nature today: go.nature.com/3pscOlX. It all started as a conversation on a balcony many years ago with @zmainen on the mysteries of olfaction and spatial cognition 👃🧠🚀 Video by @Neuro_CF AV team 👉youtu.be/BunEBiU3MO0 1/n

Really impressive finding linking food deprivation to changes in visual coding through energy costs. Almost couldn't believe it when I heard it, but a very convincing set of experiments. Congratulations @RochefortLab @ZPadamsey!
1/ I am very excited to share my work from @RochefortLab with @KatsanevakiD and Nathalie Dupuy, now published in @Neuron doi.org/10.1016/j.neuron.202…. We find that in times of food scarcity, neurons reduce their ATP consumption at the cost of coding precision.

How does the brain generate high variability in timing within a reliable sequence of actions? Very happy to be part of this collaboration!
Out sciencedirect.com/science/ar… in Neuron today. This was a great collaboration in which Stefano Recanatesi and I are co-first authors working together with Luca Mazzucato and Zach Mainen labs. We combine electrophysiology, behavior, data analysis, and network modeling. 1/4

🔥New preprint alert! Using household items, we gathered over 171K ratings from 134 countries worldwide. Simple sniff self-tests screen #COVID19 with 90% sensitivity / 80% specificity, work in asymptomatic cases and could be even better than antigen tests! medrxiv.org/content/10.1101/…
