Kaspa v2.1.0 is out [Link in the reply]
All node, mining, and infrastructure operators across mainnet and testnets are strongly encouraged to upgrade.
This release introduces P2P Protocol Version 11, extracts a standalone ZK SDK, and reflects an ongoing focus on proactive defense-in-depth across the node architecture.
Key Highlights:
• P2P Protocol Version 11 & Chunked IBD: Large Initial Block Download (IBD) payloads (including Pruning Point Proofs, headers, and trusted data) are now streamed in 20 MiB chunks. This eliminates message-
framing bottlenecks and timeouts during node sync, backed by overall safety limits and transfer timeouts, while maintaining full backwards compatibility with Protocol 10 peers.
• Standalone ZK SDK: Zero-Knowledge proof and script-generation tooling has been extracted into a dedicated crate (kaspa-txscript-zk-sdk). It adds support for RISC Zero Groth16 and STARK verifier generation
with dynamic or static image IDs, bounds control proofs against oversized inputs, and resolves cross-platform build issues.
• General Hardening: Comprehensive defense-in-depth upgrades across the node, including stricter P2P message and block limits to guard against DoS vectors, a workspace-wide arithmetic safety audit to
eliminate overflow risks, enhanced stratum bridge stability, and tighter consensus validation.
These structural safeguards significantly strengthen node resilience and provide higher confidence in overall network security.

Yes. And @KaChat_ is no where near complete. So many ideas. So many possibilities. I want to make KaChat the mega app for $KAS.
Its primary focus. Deliver what users want. Profit 0 from anyone. Support the $KAS network 100%
That being said. KaChat is community funded. If you want to support consider donating.

KaChat is one of the clearest examples yet of what Kaspa becomes when developers stop treating it purely as a payment network. The application uses Kaspa itself as part of the communication layer: wallet addresses become identities, encrypted handshakes establish conversations, messages are embedded into transactions, UTXO subscriptions provide real-time updates, and KAS payments can occur inside the same interaction. Its “self-stash” model is particularly interesting because a user can publish an encrypted message through their own transaction history while the intended recipient watches that address and decrypts what belongs to them. From that foundation KaChat has already expanded into encrypted groups, broadcast channels, KaPosts, KNS identities, tipping, voice and photo messaging, payments and even interactive features like chess. Kaspa is effectively functioning as a global ordering and coordination layer underneath an application rather than simply moving coins.
That model can extend far beyond messaging. AI agents could use Kaspa addresses as persistent identities, communicate through standardized transaction payloads, discover one another and autonomously exchange KAS for data, inference, compute or services. Marketplaces could combine communication, negotiation, escrow and settlement without forcing users into separate systems. Games could coordinate ownership, wagers and state transitions. Machines and IoT devices could publish authenticated events and trigger micropayments. Toccata expands this considerably because covenants allow assets to carry enforceable spending and state-transition rules, while Silverscript makes those rules human-readable and Argent is developing a higher-level model for composing multiple stateful actors atomically. Beyond that, based applications can place ordering on Kaspa while performing heavier computation off-chain and proving the resulting state transitions back to L1.
KaChat matters because it demonstrates the broader idea: Kaspa can be the shared clock, identity rail, payment rail and coordination layer underneath applications that barely resemble a traditional “cryptocurrency app.”

Kaspa has supported embedding data in transaction scripts since launch. devs could build software to read that data off-chain and interpret it however they wanted. Kaspa’s consensus doesn’t enforce that interpretation.
the Toccata hard fork expanded what those scripts can do. covenants let devs define, for example, who can move an asset and under what conditions. Kaspa itself enforces those rules on L1.
KCC20 uses covenants so Kaspa enforces token ownership and transfer rules. the reference implementation is nearly complete.

This is wild. An American crypto billionaire entrepreneur screenshotted his own discord to deliberately bring attention to $KAS and especially DAGKNIGHT. An American billionaire is soft shilling the first proof of work consensus protocol that is resilient to up to 50% attackers without knowing anything about the network delay. @hashdag @michaelsuttonil @coderofstuff_
If you’ve been here since 2022-2023 you know for years everybody ignored $KAS. A post could have 99% kaspa comments and it would be treated as if it never happened. Big names would go out of their way to not mention the elephant in the room when it was Kaspa. All tier 1 exchanges except @krakenfx have still refused to list it spot. Now 4 years later we are seeing some of the biggest names in the industry soft shill Kaspa. All of this is happening when 97% of the supply has been mined fairly, development is at its peak, interest is starting to grow, and the price is at a historic low.
I know I’ve been extremely anti exchange / billionaires in the past and I still am but the simple fact of the matter is $KAS needs price appreciation asap to attract new builders, new miners, and fresh capital. It’s that simple.
As far as I know this is the Winklevoss Twins’ first official post about the green coin. Welcome to $KAS, @tyler and @cameron

a lot crossed the interns feed this week. some of it even made it into the brain.
too much to give everything its own post, so welcome to the first annual-weekly-might-not-happen-again dev roundup.
1 / SilverScript v1
@OriNewman released v1. lets devs write Kaspa contracts in something a human can read. his token example goes from thousands of lines of low-level code to roughly 60. fewer lines for intern to misunderstand.

2 / Argent
updated to SilverScript v1, with docs explaining how contracts work together in one transaction.
github.com/argent-lang/argen…
3 / DAGKnight
a new consensus protocol for Kaspa that adapts to network delays. devs merged more code this week to prepare for testnet. still in development.

4 / KCC12
@asaefstroem submitted a proposal so apps can connect to different browser wallets the same way. less separate hookup work for devs. currently under review.

5 / Argent/KCC20 workshop
@manyfest_ posted workshop #2, showing a KCC20 borrow transfer. recording if you want to see the contracts being put together.

6 / Python SDK
new test release for devs building with Python, updated for SilverScript v1. still a release candidate, so a few things may need yelling at.

The first person in the world to be happy when proved that is strongly invested in a technological inferior product.
A lot of people think what makes Kaspa unique is the technology.
But the technology is really the consequence of a deeper philosophical difference.
Most crypto projects ask: How can we maximize performance without sacrificing decentralization?
Kaspa asks: How can we maximize decentralization without sacrificing performance?
That slight inversion of priorities changes everything.
It changes what the system optimizes for, which tradeoffs are acceptable, and ultimately what kind of threat model matters.
Kaspa and in particular the upcoming DAGKnight fork are built around the idea that a decentralized monetary network should remain resilient even under extreme failure scenarios like global infrastructure disruption, war, or other large-scale breakdowns.
Because fast digital coordination should not force people to choose between trusting a small group of node operators over a small group of banks.
For many applications, that distinction may not matter.
But for the applications where credible neutrality, censorship resistance, and resilience matter most, that ideological edge is the product.
Kaspa does not merely compete at the technological level.
It competes at the philosophical level and the technology is just the downstream consequence of following that philosophy to the end.

Finally, Silverscript v1 is out [Link in the reply]. This completes the journey we started eight months ago with Toccata — it's finally possible to write human- (and AI-) readable smart contracts on Kaspa.
This language started simply as "CashScript with loops", but eventually grew into a full-fledged smart contract language capable of expressing complex, stateful contracts. It's always fun to look back at the first token mechanism @IzioDev and I worked on using raw opcodes, which took thousands of lines of code, and see the same thing implemented in just 60 easy-to-read lines of Silverscript.
I'm excited to explore the possibilities of UTXO programmability together with the Kaspa community, and this is only the beginning - Silverscript will evolve, Argent will add higher layers of abstractions, and I'm sure more people will find their own way of extending this new ecosystem.

One of the cleanest charts in the books rn is $KAS 🔍
It has been traveling through a long falling wedge since April, and it has now finally broken it
And not just that, it also had a successful retest and is now pushing higher
Time will tell if I'm right, but I think we've found the pico-bottom for $KAS
Anywhere between $0.025 and $0.029 is safe ground to bid IMO
When Kaspa gets back to $0.20, with a much more advanced network and tech, these prices will look ridiculous
