Once KaChat 5.2 is out with .kachat domains I am going to take a break for a bit and then when I come back full focus will be in just fixing bugs across all apps and improving the experience. No more new features until I feel KaChat is complete and ready for more.
I anticipate 5.3 to be an update to integrate stablecoins in some way. I have been leaning towards IGRA stablecoin support for now. Of course would love a totally L1 solution but I think its better than nothing. We will see.

Here is the expected costs for purchasing and renewing .kachat domains! Give feedback!

.kachat domains will be rented for 1 or 2 years max.
The prices are looking to be setup like this.
1 character 4000 Kaspa while owned renewal is 1000
2 characters 2000 Kaspa while owned renewal is 500
3 characters 1000 Kaspa while owned renewal is 250
4 characters 250 Kaspa while owned renewal is 62.5
5 +characters 35 Kaspa while owned renewal is 8.75
All fees for domains are paid to miners.
If .kachat takes off it will give miners a continuous boost in mining income long term.

For the KaChat 5.2 update.
.kachat domains are aiming to be the most unique domain names on the Kaspa network to date.
For starters your avatar, banner, bio, etc... will no longer be carried by the domain. Reason for this is because the goal if possible will have domains to be rented never owned forever. To keep ownership you have to pay the same cost to create with a 10 day grace period. You can pay for 1 year or 2 year ownership max. All fees goes to miners.
How will avatar, banners, and bios work? Instead you can simply place the link to your profile handle on X Instagram Youtube etc... and stamp it on the Kaspa network. The indexer will store it long term as associated with your address. Your avatar banner and bio simply just load from whatever you have already setup on other social platforms. Other users do a lookup and cache the data on their device.

5.2 will be removing the handshake feature for a much more user friendly approach.
The first message you send to anyone will now hold a tag of who you contacted with which the indexer can read and now your message sits in a message requests box.
This first message costs the normal cheap fee of about .0017 meaning you no longer have to be sending .2 kaspa to each other to initiate conversations.
If you want the cleanest privacy then if you create a chat with the private chat toggle turned on then your initial message has no tag but instead the other user needs to also create a chat with you with private chat toggle turned on so that your initial messages have 0 tags with them and you see each other messages fully encrypted and then it gets added to your normal chat list.

KaChat 5.2 is already going to be worked on. Here is what to expect.
.kachat domain support + support for .kaspa and .k
.kachat will get special priority within the app but .kaspa, .k .kas will still be able to be sent received and looked up.
A KaChat Chrome extension wallet is also in the works now. It will basically be the profile menu screen only with wallet features as primary focus no social features.

Something interesting that exists with @KaChat_ is that it has a social media platform called KaPosts. Every single post, like, follow is an actual transaction on the Kaspa network. Very small fee but I think a micro fee existing like that is a built in blocker of bot spam. If a bot does want to spam they are paying the very miners who are securing the L1 via Proof of Work.
