Issue 57: Can You Back Into a Second Brain with a Collection of Software Features?
bramadams.dev/can-you-back-i…
I seem to be finding myself in race condition hell between updating comments, entries, deleting either, updating React components without full rerenders etc. Hopefully good news on this front soon!
Chrome Bookmarks importer integration here! Major thanks to Ishaan for building this.

Coded up a quick yCb @code extension that takes highlighted code, describes it and then saves it in yCb. I then searched for the code using plain English. And it saves the file path so you can open the file locally with Terminal!

Links! A manual way to permalink entries inside yCb or to link to external resources. This is great because now you can save links without having them "clog" search embeds, as links are usually not helpful to embed due to their reliance on random chars.
As a writer and a dev, I have an easier time hooking ppl into the philo of yCb, but when I show them the app, they become glassy eyed. So! I've decided to make my idea into a series of claims, and then prove each claim with the software in reality.
The main issue is time...
A little inside baseball for 4 upcoming features:
- links: manual links between entries, suggestions too!
- email: how many entries you did this week, a nice lil reward
- importers: lower the barrier of entry, by importing what walled gardens offer (scraps, generally)
Good knowledge management is simple if you follow the rule: "Don't try to force your information into something it's not."
PKM is even better when we can build off our work to make creative output. In fact, they fail if they CANT do that.
Easy in. Easy through. Easy out.
A lot of the tasks I take on are driven by an urge to make my experience as an end user better. It's very Jekyll and Hyde coded.
Email is for y'all tho.
That's for y'all.
Using @browsercompany new site Search feature to search Your Commonbase === awesome!!! Easy as Cmd+T > ycb > Tab!
