the issue lies in both extremes: demonizing Troy as irredeemable bc of fanon invented bad behavior towards Shane *&* woobifying him as an innocent victim with nothing to atone for whose actions did no harm are both complete misreads of his character that undermine his story arc.
babi@heatedmetros15h
troy's redemption arc is so much more interesting when people don't try to brush it off every single bad action he had in the past. like, you think it's not that big of a deal and this makes the redemption look unnecessary

i think what people on here fail to understand in the whole giving fic writing advice/criticism debate is that just reading a lot does not make you a good critic or capable of giving actual useful writing advice

- some readers are new to the fandom - sometimes you need to establish what’s canon in your fic - it’s good practice for writing original fiction and something a lot of modern published authors do badly and it’s very obvious they got that habit from fanfics

i don’t think rachel is trying to pander to fans tbh i think she just genuinely does love shane hollander and is genuinely hurt/upset by the narrative that she hates him

the two most embarrassing penalties in hockey: 1. Embellishment - you are a dramatic little diva, aren't you? 2. Too Many Men - you can't fucking count and probably can't read

This makes me really excited for Hayden's depiction in HR S2...they're going to go through a lot together, but the love/friendship is so genuine ❤️

“We looked through the diaspora of Ukrainian actors. We had casting out of Berlin, Prague, London, places we thought we would find the most actors of Slavic heritage. I'll tell you, I did not expect to find Ilya in West Texas.”
