Canada's sanctions regime against Russia includes a comprehensive two-way arms embargo.
But Canada applies no comparable measures against Israel – even in the midst of an ongoing genocide. To the contrary, Israeli arms manufacturers like Elbit Systems are free to acquire Canadian companies whose technology can be used to entrench Israel's unlawful military occupation of Palestine.
This is yet another example of Canada failing to fulfill its obligation "not to render aid or assistance in maintaining the situation created by the continued presence of the State of Israel in the Occupied Palestinian Territory." (ICJ Advisory Opinion, July 19, 2024)
Elbit Systems has completed the acquisition of International Submarine Engineering (ISE), a Canadian company specializing in advanced autonomous underwater and remotely operated systems for the maritime domain.
Together, our combined capabilities strengthen a comprehensive maritime portfolio spanning autonomous surface and underwater platforms, mission systems, C2, sensors, communications, and electronic warfare.
The addition of ISE is expected to expand capabilities in underwater ISR, Mine Countermeasures (MCM), and Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW).

This is appalling, irresponsible and likely criminal. Threatening and inciting others to remove a Canadian political leader for his political views is outrageous. Both the author and the National Post must retract, apologize and reverse this message at once.
Absolutely diabolical. National Post puts a bullseye on Avi Lewis through the rabid ramblings of Yoni Goldstein who invokes Halakhah and Leviticus on how to deal with Jews. Writing Lewis “presents a clear and present danger to the Jewish community” & other Jews are “duty-bound to step in.” This is so irresponsible. The National Post should be stripped of any government funding it receives from Canada. This is wholly negligent and irresponsible.

Cornell banning pro-palestine students and wrist-slapping r*pists is NOT a double standard. It is THE standard.
This story is many people’s first introduction to the imperialism/r*ape framework in post-colonial theory established by thinkers like Edward Said and Gayatri Spivak. Institutions and administrators who uphold and normalize this behavior abroad on a global level have very likely engaged in the violation of people’s sovereignty and autonomy in their own personal lives.
Accountability on any level could take down the whole edifice.

these seven frat boys at Cornell were accused of gang r*ping a fellow student, who was drugged and assaulted over and over for a period of approximately four hours.
screenshots of the fraternity "Chi Phi Activities" group showed one of them texting there was “free p*ssy” upstairs.
the university suspended them, but offered them a way back if they wrote essays.
none of these alleged gang rapists was charged with a crime.
meanwhile, the university arrested and prosecuted students who protested against genocide.
