just a friendly reminder
any creator that says they don't use AI for [thumbnails, editing, titles, scripts, etc.] is lying, or is very proud of staying behind technological advancements
don't let them make you feel guilty for using every tool you have to your advantage
reintroducing myself to the 7 new followers I got:
I'm Yaroslav, 18, from Ukraine
- at 10, moved to the US with my family. barely spoke english.
- at 11, covid hit. started uploading on youtube and doing 8+ hour streams. learned english from youtube and video games
- at 12, hit 100+ live viewers and thought I had made it
- at 13, started a discord server and moved back to ukraine. a few months later I woke up to explosions at 5am. the war had just started
- at 14, the discord hit 36,000 members ($0). started a clothing brand ($0). a war news page ($0). a new yt channel ($0). then got my first thumbnail client at $15 each.
- at 15, saved up $10K and brought on a business partner. we started a 50/50 agency
- at 16, he scammed me out of multiple 5 figures (weirdly, I'm glad it happened)
- at 17, 5 figure months, big clients, moved out from my parents. then a drone hit my house, attacks escalated, and we didn't have heating or electricity during winter
- at 18, we launched @feedzyio (the workspace for youtube teams) and I make thumbnails for some of the biggest channels in business and finance
now I'm scaling @feedzyio and running @thumbmastery_ while the attacks in ukraine get REALLY intense. adapting as I go
I post thumbnails, receipts, and the occasional shitpost (can't go without it)
never sold a course or even coaching, not planning to
anyway, welcome

I've seen how 100+ youtube teams work behind the scenes
not a single tool out there was made for how they actually work, so we built one

We killed Notion + 4 other apps for YouTube teams, and it's 83% cheaper.
Introducing Feedzy.io ✨ not vibe-coded ✨
It has everything you need to run a YouTube channel:
1. Notion → a 6-stage pipeline that takes every video from idea to upload
2. Slack → team chat, DMs and channels, built in
3. Dropbox → file management, folders for every stage
4. Frameio → comments right on your videos, thumbnails and scripts
5. ThumbnailTest → title and thumbnail A/B testing, with results for every test
+ publishing right from the app, statistics, and more
A 5-person team pays $288/mo for those 5 apps
Feedzy: $49.50/mo for your first 3 months
1.5 years of building it by hand. Zero vibe coding.
I vibe-coded beehiiv, and it's 83% cheaper.

I plotted 155 winning and losing thumbnails to find what makes a winner.
The catch: this chart is meaningless, and so is most YouTube "data" you see online.
There are three big problems with it.
1. It compares thumbnails from completely different videos. A loser from one video vs a winner from another tells you almost nothing, because the topic alone has a massive influence on how a video performs. The only fair comparison is inside each test: the winner vs the variations it actually beat, on the same video.
2. A thumbnail never works alone. It's paired with a title, which I'd argue carries just as much weight in packaging. The same thumbnail can perform completely differently depending on the title next to it.
3. "Won" and "lost" are relative. A winner only proves it beat the variations it was tested against. Put a "loser" from one video against the winner from another and it could easily come out on top.
And if it looked convincing to you, well, that's exactly the problem. Most packaging "data" people try to sell you has the same flaw: it shows you an outcome and lets you assume the cause.
For example, "titles with X characters get the most views" sounds useful. But it pools every niche, topic, channel size and thumbnail together, so it can't tell you what will work on YOUR video.
I don't think there are any general packaging rules worth following. 3 elements, max 3 words, show a face, one focal point, blah blah blah.
The only one worth it: make it interesting.
