HaTzibbur HaCharedi represents the growing number of Charedim who are fed up with the manipulation of Charedi voters and with being told that there is only one legitimate way to belong to the Charedi community in Israel.
Those who dedicate themselves to Torah learning deserve our admiration and respect. But Charedim who serve in the IDF also deserve their rightful place of pride within the Charedi community. Both are part of the Charedi ציבור. The tragedy is that existing Charedi parties disparage Charedi IDF soldiers, even if Shas pretends that is not the case.
Finally, there is a Charedi political party willing to say that openly, unequivocally and with no holds barred.
That is why HaTzibbur HaCharedi is so important for this upcoming election.
✡️🗳 -- NEW CHAREDI PARTY HITS BACK AT SHAS PARTY: A new Charedi party, Hatzibur HaCharedi, led by Moti Leitner who served in the IDF, released a satirical campaign video responding to Shas’s recent ad. Shas had originally shown a warm Frum family welcome for an IDF soldier son, with one brother in yeshiva and one serving in the army, and claimed broad soldier support, an ad later ordered removed for improper use of military imagery.
- Leitner's new party campaign videodepicts the opposite scene: a young man in IDF uniform confronted and yelled at by Peleg Yerushalmi men in a neighborhood at night - with the caption: “Shas, we fixed it for you.”
- The video implies Shas’s positive portrayal was unrealistic or propaganda, and ends with the call: “This time, take responsibility and vote Hatzibur HaCharedi.”
