Turkey doing everything it can to get kicked out of Somaliland, but @Presidencysl_ just won’t do it.
We celebrated the 103rd anniversary of the Republic of Türkiye in Hargeisa. We commemorate the founder of our Republic, Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, and all our heroes with profound respect and gratitude.

A group of leaders, each leading a large population, sitting across the table of one leader is humorous at best.
African leaders complain about being summoned by a single country but they keep showing up. At the Russia-Africa summit, Putin literally handed out ice cream, criticized former colonizers, and called out "active attempts by Western countries" to keep the continent in debt

🇺🇸🇸🇴 Federal agents searched Ilhan Omar’s home over paperwork her father filed... Somalilanders want to know what that father did in Hargeisa Nur Omar Mohamed came to America as a refugee in the 1990s, and the New York Post now reports he was a full colonel in dictator Siad Barre’s army until the regime fell, the same army that leveled Hargeisa and killed tens of thousands of Isaaq civilians in what Somaliland calls its forgotten genocide. Saeed Ibrahim, founder of the Somaliland Chronicle, says the colonel was posted to Hargeisa while the city was being shelled, and he puts the question plainly: “Perpetrators cannot claim to be refugees at the same time alongside the same people that they brutalized.” Nobody has shown the colonel personally took part in the killings, and he died in 2020. Saeed’s point is narrower: when a regime collapses, its officers hide among the people they ran from, and Washington deported one Barre-era colonel last year who was found driving for Uber. The congresswoman denies wrongdoing and calls the October 12 raid political. Whether her father’s rank was ever disclosed on those forms is now the question the case may turn on. @Saeed_beeldeeq @WeTheBrandon

In my academic journey, I have come across Somalilanders who initially shy away from proudly announcing their beloved country to the world. Why? In schools, they teach them about the Mad Mullah, not SNM, the Isaaq genocide, or the origins of the state.

To the few absolute cowards and #Oromo invasion alarmists here. Who exactly protected your land for the last 800 years, and are you afraid you don’t have the balls your forefathers did? I’m waiting.
Somalilanders! Grow the f** up and mind your business. #Moyale has nothing to do with us. Somalilanders aren’t any closer to Somalians in state or civic terms, than we are to Ethiopia, and in many ways we share more with Ethiopians.

I'll let you, citizen, be the judge here. I've never seen a country of 7+ million paranoid about some nonexistent invasion that hasn't occurred in the last 500 yrs. Somalians have a reason to fearmonger, because they oppose SL's independence. But why should a Slander? Cowardice?
Replying to @ridgulle
Bro, what did we do to you really? We never threatened to invade Somaliland, not even once. Yes we have big military and population, but that doesn't mean we don't have a brain or decency. Invade Somaliland? Whatttt?

EXPOSE THIS CRIMINAL: Somali imam Abdi Hersy faces outstanding US charges of criminal s*xual conduct against hospital patients while operating as a sheikh from Kenya. Are you starting to pick up on a trend here about Islam and Somalia? ⠀ In 2006 Abdi Elmy Hersy worked as a respiratory therapist at Woodwinds Hospital in Woodbury, Minnesota, where two female patients alleged he fondled them under their gowns during treatments and made s*xual propositions. ⠀ Washington County charged him with multiple counts of criminal s*xual conduct and criminal abuse; he fled to Canada, obtained refugee status, and has maintained an active US arrest warrant while denying the allegations. ⠀ Hersy now styles himself Sheikh Abdi Hersy, runs a Calgary mosque, and posts frequent religious and political commentary on Somali affairs, Somaliland, and Ethiopia from Nairobi. ⠀ Canada previously moved to strip his refugee protection over the US warrant but he successfully challenged the decision in federal court. ⠀ #AbdiHersy #Minnesota

It’s my understanding that, following the end of this mission’s tenure, Somalia gains a tremendous level of autonomy over UN operations. This will force offices in Somaliland to effectively come under Somalia’s country team. How does @Abdirahmanirro plan to address this?
Statement attributable to the Spokesperson for the Secretary-General on the conclusion of the mandate of the United Nations Transitional Assistance Mission in Somalia (UNTMIS) On 31 October, the United Nations Transitional Assistance Mission in Somalia (UNTMIS) will complete its two-year transition and cease operations, pursuant to Security Council resolutions 2753 (2024) and 2809 (2025) and in line with the request of the Federal Government of Somalia. This milestone brings to a close more than three decades of United Nations missions in support of peacebuilding, state-building, governance and reconciliation in Somalia. In accordance with the transition roadmap jointly agreed between the Federal Government of Somalia and the United Nations, the mandated functions of UNTMIS have been transferred to Somali institutions and United Nations agencies, funds and programmes, reflecting Somalia's commitment to greater national ownership of its peacebuilding and state-building agenda. The Secretary-General commends the progress achieved over the past decades towards building peace and security in Somalia. He commends the determination and resilience of the Somali people despite the many challenges they face, and acknowledges the tremendous efforts made on the country’s journey from conflict to recovery. The United Nations will continue to support Somalia through its resident agencies, funds and programmes, working in partnership with Somali authorities, the African Union and other international partners to advance peace, stability, human rights and sustainable development. Recognizing the significant political, security, humanitarian and development challenges that remain, the Secretary-General calls for sustained international support to consolidate progress, advance inclusive political dialogue and reconciliation, strengthen institutions, and promote and protect human rights. He also underscores the importance of continued support to address the threat posed by Al-Shabaab and enable a gradual and sustainable security transition. The Secretary-General expresses his profound gratitude to his successive Special Representatives, all national and international personnel of UNTMIS and its predecessor missions, and to all those who have served for their dedication to advancing peace and state-building efforts, often under exceptionally difficult conditions. The Secretary-General also pays special tribute to those United Nations personnel who lost their lives in the service of peace in Somalia. The Secretary-General reaffirms the enduring commitment of the United Nations to the people of Somalia and to supporting Somali-led efforts to build a peaceful, stable and prosperous future. Stéphane Dujarric, Spokesman for the Secretary-General New York, 26 October 2026 Full statement: untmis.unmissions.org/en/new…

If you believe that #Oromo can take your land, the following applies to you: 1. You’re a coward, thinking that Faqash is defending you. 2. Your IQ is that of an ant. 3. You think your ancestors existed by chance. 4. You lack self-esteem and look to Qwayn for inspiration.

I understand why Somalians fear Oromo, because Ethiopia literally runs a large portion of Somalia. What baffles me is how Somalians transferred their consternation to the ears of some puzzled landers.

In her book Ilhan Omar claimed to take a three-month trip to Somalia in 2011 when she says she was 30 years old. 💥That would make her birthday in 1981 at the latest undermining her apparently fraudulent claimed birthday of October 4 in 1982 💥

Somalilanderka muxubadu haysa kuwan lunsan ayay ka radinayan validation. what a shame.
Moyale has shown that when it comes to issues concerning all Somalis, we can unite. It’s possible. Not just a theory. Doesn’t matter if you support Somaliweyn or Somaliland 👍

LOL. Your geopolitical illiteracy is already embarrassing. What’s worse is not knowing who you are. Your entire identity is just whatever a colonizer scribbled on a map, and yet somehow you still feel qualified to lecture everyone else on borders. Xoolo
