I used machine learning to predict the 2026 World Cup winner. My model correctly predicted Spain as the champion and Argentina as the runner-up. I also compared my prediction to those of @OptaAnalyst and @NateSilver538, the major high-signal predictors of the tournament. Turns out my model was more accurate than theirs (Proud 😁😁). Building this model was hard, but I took on the challenge and succeeded. Data science and machine learning have a great use case in quantitative finance. Quants apply these skills to predict the movement of financial assets and instruments. I am taking on this challenge because everyday people have traditionally been locked out of quantitative finance. You either have to be an institutional quant or a millionaire to access these opportunities. My goal is to bring these resources and access to the fast-paced financial system straight to everyone.
