I understand that the BC Conservatives may not have had a lot of time to put this document together, but the fiscal plan comes across as one of the more reckless on offer from any political party in the country in recent years.
BC Conservative platform is out conservativebc.ca/plan/ - I’ll take a closer look but at first glance, don’t see a detailed plan to pay for major promises incl. big income tax cut other than talk of accelerating economic growth. Deficit reduction similar to NDPs. More to come

BC! Wake up. Aaron Gunn, one of the worst racists and bigots in government, claims the BCCons as his own. This is why the caucus is filled with homophobes, racists, bigots, anti women’s rights activists, QAnons. Gunn was deemed too crazy for BCLibs over a decade ago but now

And here is the real data over a standard 10 year period: 39% public sector to 23% private sector job creation. A far cry from the manipulated, 7 year period used. Also note the bars reflect overall category weight: @JasJohalBC
The basis of our prosperity begins with a strong private sector economy. Since 2019, B.C. private sector jobs grew 3.3%. Public sector jobs grew 46.4%. Source: Business Council of BC @BCBCLaura @BizCouncilBC #bcpoli #cdnpoli

The BC Conservatives are the latest desperate attempt by the BC Liberals to rebrand themselves. Hopefully most folks will see through their tricks and remember how disastrous the Gordon Campbell Liberals were to the people of BC.
I am deeply honoured to announce that I have received the official endorsement of the Hon. Gordon Campbell for Vancouver-Quilchena. Gordon Campbell’s remarkable career defined modern British Columbia. He spent three consecutive terms shaping our city as the Mayor of Vancouver, before serving a decade as the 34th Premier of British Columbia. His commitment to strong economic management, infrastructure growth, and fiscal responsibility set the standard for leadership in our province. Thank you, Premier Campbell, for your trust and support. Let’s bring accountable government back to BC! Vote for the @Conservative_BC

You are doubling down on conservative policies that have failed. And you know it. Being mean to those facing challenges obviously doesn’t work. They need help, kindness and care. Please focus on that.
I have been so encouraged by the people I’ve met during this campaign. And it’s clear to me that this election matters, like no other election this city has had. We’re facing a choice. We can double down on policies that have failed us, or throw up our hands and say nothing needs to change. Or we can roll up our sleeves together, vote YES on the plebiscite, and make the lasting change I think we all know this city is capable of. Only ABC has committed to delivering it. Imagine if, instead of being known for the Downtown Eastside, we were known as the city that solved it. Imagine if, instead of being known worldwide for our drug policies, we were known as a world-class leader in treatment and recovery. I believe in what this city can be. Being your Mayor has been the greatest privilege of my life. Let’s make the next four years count, Vancouver. Election Day is this Saturday, October 17. Vote YES on both Public Safety Plebiscite questions, vote for me and your ABC Vancouver team, and bring your friends and family. #ABCVancouver #PublicSafety #Affordability

UBCIC calls for removal of BC Conservative candidate John Henderson voiceonline.com/ubcic-calls-… via @Indo-Canadian Voice THE Union of BC Indian Chiefs is calling for the removal of Powell River-Sunshine Coast candidate John Henderson of the BC Conservative Party over his history of residential school denialism. As Mayor of Sechelt, Henderson pushed a book called “Grave Error: How The Media Misled Us,” a collection of essays that minimize and deny the experiences of residential school survivors. Henderson was then rebuked by his own city council, who passed a motion rejecting residential school denialism. At a subsequent meeting, the councillors wore orange shirts in solidarity with residential school survivors. Grand Chief Stewart Phillip, UBCIC President, stated: “When the B.C. Conservative Party announced Mr. Henderson’s candidacy on October 1, the very day after people across the country marked the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, it felt like a slap in the face. As the UBCIC Chiefs-in-Assembly have noted, the pain of Residential School denialism is deeply offensive and compounds the suffering that generations of survivors have already endured and has no place in public discourse. Particularly concerning is the dissemination of misinformation and harmful denialism by individuals elected to public office. No individual should be acclaimed by any party when they have perpetuated Residential School denialism, including Mr. Henderson.” Ravi Parmar, BC NDP Candidate for Langford-Highlands, says: “It is clear that the Conservative Party takes little issue with extreme and harmful views. John Henderson’s residential school denialism was publicly known when Lorne Doerkson approved him as a candidate. Even John Rustad rejected residential school denialism in his party. British Columbians deserve to know if he thinks these views are acceptable under his leadership.”

David Eby and the BC NDP are still very much in this race!
If Normie Lorne can maintain this frame in the debate tonight — and the next ten days — without getting flustered or trepidatious or squirrelly in the tsunami of attacks from the BC NDP/David Eby, then it’s over: 50+ seats majority government.

Eby was probably the most consistent and steady in this debate. Lowan was hitting the heaviest. Doerkson gets his licks in on Eby, but struggled to convey a clear vision, coming off as disjointed, too broad in talking points, and sometimes even off-topic.

Alcohol causes more death and disorder than any street drugs morons.

Alcohol is toxic and unhealthy. It is NOT needed to have fun. Please stop spreading industry misinformation. Taxes on alcohol need to be higher to fund treatment of all the health and other problems it creates.
Conservatives know fun is worth defending. 🍻 The NDP have strangled our pubs and bars with red tape, high taxes, and street disorder. A Conservative government will: ✅ Remove PST on Canadian alcohol, keeping more money in consumer pockets and backing local business ✅ Restore nightlife safety by hiring more police, and get those with addiction and mental health issues the care they need Safe streets and fun nightlife go hand in hand. Worst campaign promise ever: you’re gonna make alcohol cheaper while promising to crack down on street disorder? Alcohol is a significant contributor to violence, assaults, public disorder and policing costs. So your public safety plan is to reduce the cost of alcohol consumption, then spend more taxpayer money policing the harms associated with it? How exactly is that a coherent public safety policy?

Remember to never ever vote for conservatives. They don’t care about safety. All they care about is the profits of their wealthy supporters in the auto, oil and other industries at the expense of our health and safety and the environment. theguardian.com/us-news/2026…

Today advance voting is open from 8AM-8PM across the city. We're asking people to vote the whole COPE slate (4 for each board), and then fill out the rest of their ballots with progressive parties that can beat Ken Sim.

"History remembers what we choose to build and what we choose to tear down." Wise words. We remember that ABC chose to tear out bike lanes, and built, well... nothing.
Happy Thanksgiving! ❤️ Wishing everyone love, grace and blessings. Less hatred, less destruction, more kindness. History remembers what we choose to build and what we choose to tear down. I know where I stand. @Vote4ABC

This is why it’s never a good idea to elect someone with zero public policy experience as the Mayor of your city. In this video, Kennedy Stewart explains how Ken Sim screwed up the effort to bring SkyTrain to UBC. It may be surprising to some, but Kennedy Stewart was more capable than Ken Sim. Conservative Health Critic Anna Kindy is clear: she supports two-tier healthcare. This would let the richest jump the line, pull workers out of the public system, and leave everyone else waiting longer. That's the conservative approach in Alberta - we can't afford it here.

#VPDNews: Long-term crime statistics are showing positive results of proactive policing in Vancouver. “Today we are sharing crime trend statistics and inviting media to report on them so the public knows exactly what is happening when it comes to crime in Vancouver,” said Senior Deputy Chief Constable Howard Chow. “When it comes to the perception of public safety, the facts matter.” Violent crime, property crime, and overall crime rates all declined overall between 2002-2025. Additionally: ▶️Statistics Canada’s preferred method of report crime trends is the Crime Severity Index (CSI). The CSI is important because it takes into account the severity of crimes, and doesn’t equate, for example, a shoplifting incident with a violent robbery. ▶️Vancouver in 2025 had a record-low Overall Crime Severity Index (CSI) - the lowest on record since Statistics Canada started keeping track in 1998. In the last 10 years Vancouver’s Overall CSI dropped by 22.3%, compared to an increase of 4.2% across the nation. ▶️Vancouver in 2025 had record-low Non-Violent CSI scores – the lowest on record since Statistics Canada started keeping track in 1998. ▶️The only reason Vancouver in 2025 didn’t also have a record-low Violent CSI score is the Lapu-Lapu mass casualty incident (11 second-degree murder charges). While it is true that crime has increased so far in 2026 compared to last year, the reality is that the most serious crimes such as murder, attempted murder, sexual offences, commercial break-and-enter, residential break-and-enter, and auto theft are decreasing. The most severe types of crime are down and the VPD is projecting all three CSI categories will drop through 2026 to the lowest ever recorded levels. “We are making progress. It’s not an accident. It’s not a coincidence. It’s because the VPD is policing effectively and investing in the right technologies and policing strategies like Project Barrage and the creation of District 5 to address public safety concerns,” Chow concluded. “Of course we know there is always more work to be done. The VPD remains committed to ensuring the public safety of Vancouver’s residents, businesses and visitors.” Sources: bit.ly/3VY20hQ
