Something that's been worrying me: Insurance is good and people don't understand it so we just bully them into getting it anyway. But extended warranties are mostly bad and people can't really distinguish them from insurance. Good and bad life insurance are also lumped together.
To amplify what the space dog is saying, it is incredibly horrible to realize that our society absolutely requires an insurance industry to function, while a slim majority of the voting population is incapable of comprehending what it does at the most basic level.

The stock market exists for some good reasons but daytrading zero-day options on Robinhood based on advice from Reddit is really bad. Many forms of credit like mortgages are good but BNPL is mostly bad.

In the 20th century scams were progressively outlawed and financial guardrails were introduced so dumb people could succeed without getting preyed upon. Now it's being rolled back and scams are eroding trust in civilization. People see that "the system" is hurting them.

Time for Neosporin discourse.
Hello @Deliveroo. Please stop encouraging your delivery partners to staple their bags for food. It is dangerous. I have just cut myself, and now I am in A and E as I am scared of sepsis.

We're going to need industrial quantities of popcorn for this drama. Another 20 trillion to Ludnuke and Brodie.
Help us bring more awesome games to Linux This is an open call to Linux distro maintainers and the wider Linux community, with a goal to work together and bring fair multiplayer gaming to Linux players. We’re rebuilding our Linux anti-cheat into EAC Linux v2 so that Linux players can have a similar level of protection against cheaters as Windows users do. We’ll pilot EAC Linux v2 with Fortnite first, with wider availability for game developers once we’ve validated its effectiveness. Learn more and get in touch: onlineservices.epicgames.com…

We have reached the "Epic will back down because SteamOS isn't signed" stage of grief. SteamOS will be signed soon enough. Resistance is futile; you will have Fortnite.

If you plant a bug in a Meta conference room you'll find Alexandr Wang already has one (for training data).

I'm listening to the front desk calling the rooms that haven't checked out asking them what's up. So yeah, it does save time and confusion to check out from the hotel.

Using a zeppelin (not Led Zep) to advertise Gemini is certainly a choice. I know the Ames connection but most don't.
