Hello birders who are new, welcome, we love you so much, please include a location where/when your bird was seen for ID purposes, thank you & we can’t wait to see what you see!!
i think that people should birdwatch however they want. unless of course it is different to how i birdwatch, in which case their list is invalid, they are ontologically evil, and should be killed

I for one welcome this first step for the catholic Butlerian jihad
In this era of artificial intelligence, it is becoming urgent to distinguish human art from what machines produce. There is an ontological difference, even before an aesthetic one, between art and what a machine can generate through statistical calculation based on millions of images created by others. Algorithms lack the spark of humanity. For this reason, the Church wishes to renew an alliance with artists and cultural institutions to safeguard our humanity.

A single regent honeyeater is worth more to me than all the computers, LLMs, and techies in the world combined
A rare split-second view of the critically endangered Regent Honeyeater banking in flight, revealing its exquisite black and gold plumage. Fewer than 400 remain in the wild.

Just a quick reminder that the Vietnamese Crested Argus exists. Critically endangered and restricted to humid forests of Laos and Vietnam, it is widely considered to have a huge-ass tail.

i do think there is an element of millenial small pupper doggo humour from 2016 being applied to birding & birds recently which is an interesting pattern to observe
