As you flip your calendars over to september this morning, it's worth considering: what am I gonna do when 2027 rolls around?
Well I've got you sorted: birdmichaelbirdcalendars.big…
Me, 10 minutes before scrolling on my phone in bed: okay, time to stop scrolling on the couch and go read my book in bed

Every character in literature is struggling with what it means to be a good bloke. The Crime and Punishment guy, Frankenstein, Those little women. All I did was add in some sick waves. Happy holidays, Tim.
You can see why he's Australia's fave

Apparently they had to rescue a plains wanderer off a runway at Melbourne airport??? Crazy record, those sneaky nocturnal bastards probably have us surrounded
Something good definitely happening off to the left (beach stone-curlew, red-backed kingfisher, fan-tailed cuckoo, black-shouldered kite)
Taking suggestions for 2026 Aus Lit to add to this pile! Just read Patrick Hunn's incredibly fun and strange story collection, so pretend that's on the pile too
Read a bunch of positive stuff about this, and Patchett is obviously very skillful, but this is so sweet it made me mad
Unfortunately the ATO has linked my paypal and now i have to deal with complex tax arrangements around these goddamn calendars, what a joy

as someone who likes simple boring things, the phrase 'minimalism was made up by big small to sell you more less' has really done a number on me. im haunted by it every day
I dunno guys, I just feel like if you really cared about my mental health you'd buy some of these goddamn bird calendars that are sitting in my lounge room
Donating blood feels like such an archaic thing to me - sure, milk me for my blood that you can then put inside someone else who needs it. Amazing we haven't found a simpler solution (still: you should donate blood)
Greens poll at 11-13% for twelve years: aha, they're finally emerging as a genuine alternative! (I really wish they were tbh)
