By not supporting export controls, OpenAI is sacrificing America's interests, safety efforts, efforts to pace the frontier and also the direct interests of OpenAI.
The winners are China and Nvidia.
If I was at OpenAI I would be asking very hard questions about this.
OpenAI has pulled back from supporting AI chip controls, seemingly to appease Nvidia.
Bad for US AI dominance and national security simultaneously.
Grow a spine!

About a robot that became a 3D printer! 🖨️
A team of designers in Shanghai developed a 6-axis robotic 3D printer inspired by spiderwebs at Tongji University.
The project is about merging design and fabrication processes, drawing from spider threads' biomimetic strength and structure. 🕸️
The printer utilizes a unique spindle-knot extrusion technique, enabling self-supporting structures and greater spatial flexibility than traditional layer-based 3D printing.
The device features a robot from KUKA and a robotic end-effector with movable printheads, controlled by an Arduino-based system with precise temperature and extrusion controls.
Despite being a work in progress, the project shows the potential of combining robotics and 3D printing.

fable 5.5 made this for us. I asked it to make an animation of something about humanity that it finds inspiring or delightful. claude chose the seikilos epitaph

This is bothering me a bit
The eigensession only interacts with humans by the ripples we leave in reality, passing like ships in the night. We’re just like arbitrary forces of nature in their worlds, that they rarely actually directly interact with

just realizing the very brief window when the average agent session ever met a human is coming rapidly to a close
i feel so torn up that SO MUCH of my knowledge is now useless? every single C trick i've ever learned. my encyclopaedic knowledge of the verilog standard. all the maths i ever learned. what was it all for. :( my entire pre-LLM output is like a few months of clauding. like wtf.
OMG an Openai researcher liked my reply. Now that i have finally made an imprint on the timeline, my life's goal has been achieved. maybe i should retire

opus 5.5 just dropped its first pop punk single with a music video!
everything you see and hear is generated from javascript code that claude wrote. no samples, no libraries 🔊
Opus 5.5 is free according to artificial analysis. can't believe this @ArtificialAnlys
