First, the icon players. MI - SRT, KKR - SCG, RCB - RSD and KXIP - Yuvi were the initial selections. DD added Sehwag to the list. DC pushed for VVS but he declined. The franchise had to pay the icon player 15% more than that of their highest-paid player. VVS wanted the team to spend more on others.
