The Talarico campaign generated over 3 billion organic views online.
We did it by running a social media program that was driven by storytelling and designed for vertical video.
This is the new playbook.

On the Talarico campaign, we wrote speeches for the For You page.
Everything was designed to work in the room AND be consumed in clip-sized increments.
In 2026, speeches are compilations of clips.

When I got my first big social media job in 2020, I was a proud hater of fancy production for social posts
"All you need is an iPhone!!! People want casual!!!"
That advice made sense when your followers saw your posts
Now the algorithm shows you to strangers at the same clip as your followers, and strangers don't owe you anything. They might not know who you are, and you have to earn their attention immediately
If your video doesn't do well among non-followers, it'll tank
Had Talarico's team used a casual iPhone shot for this video, it would've lost all of its aura and sense of place and you probably would've kept scrolling
Instead, they shot it like a damn movie, and it racked up hundreds of millions of views across platforms
I can't tell you what the zoom and the lens and the angle are doing, but I can tell you it feels good. It earns your attention, and you want to listen
The dynamic captions right in the middle of the screen help keep you hooked too, because those feel good to read
You should trust @parkerpbutler a lot more than me about campaign social, and he said 2026 was the year organic overtook paid social
I don't anticipate organic being any less important in 2028 and beyond
The best campaign teams will operate like miniature production studios, and the entire org will need to give digital a seat at the table from the very beginning, rather than bringing them in at the last minute and asking, "We have an event, how are we going to film it?"
Like it or not, the internet is real life

On KamalaHQ, I took a gamble and started making fan edits that reflected the excitement we were already seeing online.
We carried that over to @TheDemocrats and now @HQNewsNow and it's been changing the narrative and the vibes by meeting people in a format they love ever since.
Streets are saying that '26 was the "Fan Edit Election."
I think the team @TheDemocrats produced the HARDEST edits of the cycle.
And our audience seems to agree. In the past week alone, we've gained 700K followers on TikTok—passing 7M in total. A 🧵 of my faves:

DEMOCRATS MUST DELIVER
Trumpism grew out of the failure of the Democratic Party to stand with working families. That cannot continue. At a time of unprecedented income and wealth inequality and declining faith in democracy, Democrats MUST deliver. No excuses.
- Medicare for All
- A $20-an-hour minimum wage
- The PRO Act
- A wealth tax on billionaires, which would pay for universal childcare, free public colleges and universities, and a massive housing program
- An AI data center moratorium
- Bringing ICE under control and comprehensive immigration reform
- REAL campaign finance reform

🌊Some highlights from JB Pritzker's "Day One" Agenda--his demands to the new Democratic Congress for legislation that should be introduced immediately:
🔵 Tariff refund checks to all Americans, with interest
🔵 Allow private lawsuits against ICE for constitutional violations
🔵 Make home medical care a required Medicaid benefit
🔵 Codified standards that bar agencies from cancelling grants over shifting "agency priorities"
🔵 Modernize SSI: raise the $2,000 asset limit (frozen since 1989) and end marriage penalties
🔵 Tax-exempt bond financing for new nuclear plants
🔵 A federal agency or oversight standards for dealing with gambling addiction nationally
🔵 Legislation making disaster aid based on measurable need, never on how a state voted

Zohran Mamdani: “It’s not enough for us as Democrats to win power. We have to use that power to deliver change that Americans can feel in their wallets. When you look at these campaigns, if we want to speak about James Talarico, he campaigned on a vision for universal childcare. If you want to talk about Keisha Lance Bottoms, she campaigned on a vision of cutting red tape to build housing. If you want to talk about Jocelyn Benson, she campaigned on a moratorium for data centers. What I’m excited to see now is a recognition that the work is only just starting and this has to be delivered for working people across the country”

Keisha Lance Bottoms is the great-great-granddaughter of an enslaved man named Sheppard Peek.
She will soon live in the Georgia Governor’s Mansion, mere miles from where he was enslaved, as the first-ever Black woman elected Governor.

Oh Arizona, I love you so much.
We’re taking back the state legislature for the first time in 60 years. We’ve flipped multiple Congressional seats, and we’re in the lead in some that were once considered impossible. Dems are winning statewide by significant margins.
HOPEFUL FOR OUR FUTURE.
