Timing. First people saw what was possible. Close enough is the first proof that it can be done. Watch Florida closely…
So so happy for Keisha, but I hope we unpack why Georgia was able to elect her and not Stacey Abrams.

The same reason Obama won the POTUS but Jesse Jackson didn't...one lays the foundation and the next one wins.

I think ppl lean into colorism & beauty standards but I also think it’s cause Keisha…is a β€œfun girl” she’s a socialite, so she just had deeper connections & had no problem callin on them whenever.

Because Georgia in 2018 is not the same as Georgia in 2026. That’s it. Demographics, economic conditions, partisan shifts, etc are all very different.

I'm in Georgia, and I can tell you ppl split their ticket between Warnock / Kemp. A lot of the voters split ballots, unfortunately, came from Black men, especially when Killer Mike was out their hyping Kemp. He really did a disservice to Abrams

Brian Kemp the Secretary of State who oversees all state elections… overseeing the one he was running in 2018, might have had something to do with it…. Just saying

Other than Kemp cheating the first time, people wasn’t starving & car notes wasn’t $700 when Stacey ran. Kemp with all his faults also had a platform. Rick Jackson just put a bunch of black kids in commercials & said vote for me cause I didn’t have a daddy either

All of the quotes is right I’ll also add this. If Keisha would ran back then instead of Stacey she still would NOT have won. Pre covid world was just different.

It’s been said various places – Stacy Abrams went to work after she lost to make sure that the election process in Georgia was more equitable

Stacey Abrams had the election stolen from her. She also did some heavy organizing afterwards to ensure folks like Lance-Bottoms, Ossoff, and Warnock could win after her loss. Please don’t make this a surface level conversation about desirability.

Voter suppression. So many votes were also either thrown out or not counted during her bid. People forget that this loss made Stacey get active so that it never happened again. And here we are.

The biggest Factor is timing. With texas on the ballot and Ossoff as a sure thing Republicans didn't put effort and money into fighting for the state. The other factor smaller but still relevant is beauty standards and the Fact that Stacy Abrams is a single black female addicted to retail and well...

It is literally just timing. In ANY other GA political environment besides the one we are currently in KLB is not a competitive candidate at all. You put Stacey in this same position and she wins with damn near 60% of the vote

Different timing and luckily for her, this moment called for a don’t fuck this up campaign. Smile, wave, and let Trump ruin it. Stacey isn’t a passive candidate and gives people room to fight against their own interests. They also, at the very least, attempted to cheat.
