On 6/30 @UCSanDiego used campus police to arrest three academic workers at their homes on felony charges of vandalism for chalking “Living Wages Now” on a building in a protest a month prior. Now it turns out UCSD had previously told workers it was ok to chalk buildings.
Just before the Fourth of July weekend, three UCSD academic workers were arrested by campus police on charges of felony vandalism and conspiracy to commit a crime.
Their crime? Writing pro worker slogans—in washable markers and chalk.
