An aversion to risk is what makes these tragic events so rare. Thinking that something looks like it’s from the 1980s = unfit/unsafe shows they don’t understand what they are commenting on. Teslas are modern tech. If planes crashed as much as Teslas, no one would fly.

When I visited the tower at a major airport a few years ago, I was shocked to learn this was the primary display that air traffic controllers used. It looks like the 1980s. We need major updates, but the tech is frozen, ironically due to aversion to risk associated with changes.

As a collector I have a different perspective than many who post. Our first acquisition was in 1993- thirty years ago. The decision to acquire an art work versus a sofa was a big one. We opted for an art work and let a futon suffice.
