Today's State of the State address by @GovKathyHochul included so many initiatives to improve the lives, safety, and well-being of New Yorkers. We're excited to continue working with state leaders to create a safer world for all of us.

NEW YORK: Hundreds of Jews & neighbors are lighting a NINE-FOOT TALL MENORAH decorated with the word “Ceasefire.”
On the first night of Chanukah, we’re making it clear:
End the siege on Gaza. Release all hostages. We are #JewsForCeasefire.

Thank you @GovKathyHochul for standing strong on congestion pricing. We need funds for the @MTA's 🚇🚌🚈 - and to cut the choking traffic and air pollution in NYC.
Congressmen Josh Gottheimer, a New Jersey Democrat, and Michael Lawler, a New York Republican, announced legislation that would block federal funding to the MTA if it enacts congestion pricing specne.ws/uJGegi

Last week someone sent me dozens on internal documents from a fossil fuel trade group.
They reveal a massive greenwashing campaign that aims to convince Americans that propane (a fossil fuel) is good for the environment.
The campaign has already reached 300m+ people.

When Justice Alito says that “before the arrival of Europeans, the tribes were at war with each other”, he isn’t only saying that Indigenous people were “uncivilized.” He’s implying Europeans brought a peaceful civilization, which denies settler colonialism’s genocidal project.

This is unbelievable.
Reinfections had a 3 time risk of hospitalization and a 2 time risk of death compared to no reinfection.
Whoever said reinfections were not significant was deeply wrong
Spread this far and wide
Here is the latest from our team in @NatureMedicine
Should you protect yourself from Covid-19 reinfection
Yes!
Reinfection is not benign; it is best to avoid it

It would’ve been really easy for the Fetterman campaign to lean into ableism after his stroke,
And instead he and the campaign addressed the reality that millions of Pennsylvanians and Americans have had health crises, just like he did, and deserve the life saving care he got —

A few on-the-Amtrak takeaways:
- No Republican wave; historically the party underperformed when compared to other midterms.
- That said, here in NY, thanks to a remarkable redistricting debacle, Repubs were able to flip at least 2 if not 3 Congressional seats.

New Yorkers resoundingly voted “yes” on the act. Here’s what @jessicaottney told me earlier this week:
“These are issues that are pervasive across our state and they hit everyone equally no matter what political affiliation they are,” she said. “This is not a political measure.”
