A firsthand look at the inside of Fairwater Community Campus – Wales’s largest education facility.
Below is a walkthrough tour of the 24,000 sq ft project and its 4 buildings and 3 schools, which will soon house approximately 1,500 pupils and 621 separate rooms for staff and pupil working spaces.
With BESL/CMB stepping in as interim Principal Contractor on the £110 Million project back in November, we are delighted with the progress made so far and are pleased to deliver this inside look on the entire development.

CMB are delighted to announce the successful handover of the specialist Cleanroom Fitout contract to @KLAcorp.
From concept to completion, we have been proud to play a key role as Principal Contractor, in the delivery of this state-of-the-art manufacturing facility, adding yet another Cleanroom facility to our company portfolio.
CMB Project Director, Rob Borley, who oversaw the project, commented:
"I would like to personally extend a massive thank you to everyone involved in the delivery of this project. Everyone in the Team should be extremely proud of the outstanding standards achieved — particularly in the areas of health and safety, design, project management, and workmanship.
A special thank you to our trusted supply chain, whose commitment and expertise have been instrumental in delivering a top-tier installation across this complex project."

Year 11 pupils from @cantonianhs have officially left their mark on the new Fairwater Community Campus development!
During an exclusive tour of the site, the 8 students signed the steel framework of what will soon be the new school.
Cantonian High School will be moving into the Fairwater Community Campus, which will also include new build schools for @RiverbankSch and @WoodlandsHS, all situated on the single site in Fairwater.
We look forward to seeing the final vision come to life.

Great effort by the BESL team and the supply chain partners to recover some of the lost time as a result of the ISG administration. The whole project team appreciate the difficult decisions made by the Council in a time of adversity and companies and jobs were saved as a result.
The BESL team has made excellent progress on the Fairwater Community Campus project over the past 12 weeks. Having built momentum since stepping in as interim Principal Contractor in November, both the project team and supply chain are fully mobilised and driving forward at a good pace.
The Health & Wellbeing Block (HWB) is now watertight, with internal fit-out progressing smoothly. The screed has been laid, second-fix M&E services are now underway and externally, the first of the 5-a-side All-Weather pitches has been completed.
Cantonian High School is following a similar trajectory, with internal fit-out advancing well and the first screed areas to be finished shortly. The external envelope progress is particularly impressive, with work ongoing across all elevations, including SFS, cladding, and brickwork. For the Riverbank and Woodlands areas, the structural floor slabs have been completed, which now allows work to begin on fire protection and the building envelope. Meanwhile, installation of photovoltaic panels and other roof finishes is progressing steadily also.
