Floridian Future makes the outrageous, alarmist claim that passing Amendment 3 will gut your county fire services. Only your county commissioners can do that - NOT Amendment 3; and if they did, how long would they last in office? Amendment 3 does not contain a provision cutting, capping, or reducing county fire department funding. In fact, the proposed constitutional language specifically identifies “fire service” and emergency medical service as part of “public safety;” one of the permitted uses of county and municipal ad valorem tax revenue.
