So did the DOJ ethics police 🤡 clear that dinner or not?
MUST WATCH: @SenBooker grills Attorney General nominee Todd Blanche over his role in the DOJ dropping the investigation into Paramount-Warner Bros. "You approved the decision to close the department's investigation into that merger, yes or no?" "I was part of the decision..."

#Siri #DMA #Apple #iOS27 #WWDC2026

Apple just announced the new Siri AI features are coming, but not to EU iPhone users. That shouldn’t be the outcome. I vibe-coded a website to gather signatures for EU iPhone users who want access to the new Siri AI features. Sign the petition: siri4eu.com

Apple decided not to roll out SIRI AI in the EU. The non-interoperability of their design made the update not suitable for the EU market. Why? Because big tech companies cannot decide which EU tool should be used by EU citizens. Learn more👇 📺youtube.com/shorts/ATg_W0N3K…

Perspective of antitrust lawyers...
180,000 of you now. I satirize from the perspective of insiders who will never say these things out loud. Pentagon auditors. Hedge fund compliance officers. Health insurance denial architects. Congressional ethics staffers. Oil traders with 21-minute windows. HR directors who renamed layoffs. Surveillance vendors. Opioid settlement lawyers. Deportation logistics coordinators. AI safety researchers who watched the guardrails come off. To every subscriber who reads the quiet parts with me. To everyone who's left a comment, shared a post, or tagged someone with "this is literally my industry." You're the reason this work reaches the people it's about. I write confessions. You make them travel. The community interaction is genuinely the best part of this — not the numbers, but the replies where someone says "I thought I was the only one who noticed this." You weren't. You just didn't have a narrator yet. Thank you. The work continues because you keep showing up for it.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the Atlantic:
Terrific piece by @MarkRuffalo and @matthewstoller explaining how extreme market concentration breeds fear and silence, and how the growing effort to stop the Paramount merger exemplifies courage, solidarity, and the importance of pushing back. nytimes.com/2026/05/07/opini…

In Italy: don't just look, smile and have a kind word.
Italian efficiency when it comes to coffee should be studied. In Italy: - Walk into a bar and look at the guy - Un caffe - 30 seconds later it’s ready - Shoot it - Leave €1 - Walk out In the US: - Join a line - Wait - Order coffee - Answer 12 questions: Size? Milk? Roast? Sugar? Temperature? Colombia beans? Name? How do you spell it? - $12.34 - Ask for a 20% tip. Click 5 times on a ipad to have a custom tip - Tap phone - ask where to send the invoice - Wait again on a different line - Someone call a name that sounds similar to mine - get the coffee - too hot, can't drink it - finally at temperature taste like shit

France’s justice system is independent and that independence is precisely what ensures the law applies without political interference. Free speech is not a shield for illegal contents or the humiliation of women online. Protecting digital rights means enforcing rules that keep people safe. That’s the French and European approach.
Macron’s France is losing legitimacy as it weaponizes criminal investigations to suppress free speech and privacy. The U.S. Department of Justice has refused to assist France in its investigation of @elonmusk, calling the case politically motivated. The French prosecutor’s office claims to be independent, but that is untrue: French prosecutors are hired, fired, and promoted by the government. The judicial police — who provide often misleading reports to investigative judges — are also controlled by the government. 🎭 I’m under a similar investigation in France: over a dozen charges, each carrying up to 10 years in prison. Proud to stand alongside Elon Musk and others targeted by Macron's campaign against digital rights. In Macron’s France, being investigated is the new Légion d’honneur.🎖

Let’s be clear about what happened here: DOJ capitulated. We didn’t. Proud we kept up the fight when they caved.
Congratulations to all on this historic liability finding. The DOJ was proud to lead a settlement in this matter that brings the American people instant relief and also applauds the remaining states on today’s liability finding. This is a win for everyone in our country besides Live Nation.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
DOJ settled with Live Nation in March 2026 and withdrew from the trial. 34 states + DC rejected the settlement as too weak, continued the case independently, and won today’s liability verdict. DOJ did not lead the litigation to this outcome. x.com/LeeHepner/stat… x.com/JamBase/status… nytimes.com/2026/03/13/art… oag.maryland.gov/News/pages/Att… nbcnews.com/business/consu…
