Replying to @BioMolSys
@BioMolSys alumnus @wangcc7280 presented a insightful #glycotime lecture and had a good time with us in #potsdam
It's hard to synthesize sugar molecules.
@wangcc7280 from @AcadSinica presented a program (#GlycoComputer) that predicts how easily a sugar molecule can be attached to another & how molecular units of oxygen & hydrogen (#hydroxyl groups) can bind to sugar units.

The leaving group does not really leave and still governs the reaction in many ways. We find some of them.

This past Monday some of the experts that helped to establish the @CTC_Concept visited the future location of the institute in#Delitzsch in #Sachsen. What used to be a sugar factory, is now a ruin, but will become the home to 1.000 scientists and science-based companies

Safety first !!!
So here is a simple question tweeps.
Which solvent could have caused such injury after poking one's finger with a syringe and injecting 1-2 drops of solvent. 15 minutes and 2 hrs pictures
Just came out in @J_A_C_S.

Removing protecting groups by hydrogenation seems like a boring routine task. Still it often results in loss of half the material at the last step of a synthesis. Quality control of the catalyst greatly improves the deprotection. Great job @ronocdrofwarc @MpiciPotsdam @BioMolSys
Key to accessing synthetic glycans is reliable and efficient deprotection protocols (and catalysts!). To find out more read our article in @OPRD_ACS Complete at @ucdchemistry @MpiciPotsdam doi.org/10.1021/acs.oprd.0c0…

My thanks to @BeilsteinInst team and the other editors that make my job fun. Thanks to all our authors and reviewers for their contributions. It is surprisingly hard to convince people that platinum open access publishing is beneficial to authors and readers. #BJOC
Today, we are celebrating the 10-year anniversary of our Editor-in-Chief Professor @peterseeberger @MpiciPotsdam at the Beilstein Journal of Organic Chemistry 🎉!
Thank you, Professor Seeberger for your support and advice.
