Over the radios we heard ‘There’s a turtle 🐢 on the yard!’ It sure created a lot of excitement and so many great questions. It’s so beautiful when something so small can inspire so much! A tiny turtle 🐢 for the win!

So special to see our Owls' learning in this week's #ocsbFridayFeeling!
🍂🌱 Meaningful change often begins with something small.
From thoughtful letters to residential school survivors and acts of everyday kindness, to recycling, outdoor exploration and apple-inspired math, OCSB students found countless ways to learn, care and make a difference this week.
A curious question, a thoughtful choice or a new discovery may seem small on its own, but each one plants a seed. As we Nourish New Beginnings, those seeds are already taking root in classrooms and school communities across the Board.
And on Franco-Ontarian Day, students celebrated the French language, Franco-Ontarian culture and the vibrant Francophone community that continues to grow and thrive across Ontario. 💚🤍 Bonne Journée des Franco-Ontariens!
See what caught our attention in this week’s #ocsbFridayFeeling.

When students encounter a logic puzzle such as Sudoku, they actively interpret, reinvent, and reconstruct the game through their own imagination.
This provocation invited children to explore patterns, sequencing, counting, and possibilities at their own pace.

Our Insect Inquiry 🐛🦋
A new inquiry has begun to emerge in our classroom: Insects!
This investigation was sparked by the children’s own observations and growing connections with the living world around them! Butterflies, in particular, captured their attention.
@BernadetteOCSB
This week our Owls participated in a number talk about blueberries! We extended their learning the next day by asking them to pull and count "blueberries" from a "basket"! 🫐 "Blueberry, blueberry nice and round; Pull some out and count what you've found!" @BernadetteOCSB
