Thanks in part to this filthy website, we seem in very recent times to be slipping back towards a place where whole groups of people, sometimes races or ethnicities, are being blamed for the evil-doing of a tiny minority. It is a profoundly backward, poisonous and anti-British ideology that is rooted in the gutter and represents the road to perdition.

This is counter-productive, authoritarian and chilling. The British state should not be in the business of banning commentators and journalists from entering the country, without compelling reason. Finding their views objectionable is nowhere near enough.

It’s a testament to both the incompetency & petty authoritarianism of @HMCTSgovuk that they destroyed one of the most valuable artworks they own, but they did it so badly that you can still see the shadow of the work, which conveys its message perhaps even more powerfully than the original piece.

Thank you Britain, truly an incredible tax system. Definitely couldn't be improved.
(This is what's so annoying about the UK. There's so much low hanging fruit that could be picked (development regulation, basic infrastructure, tax system) that politicians just don't act on.)

Ofsted has a new interim chair. He's a trained teacher, became a head, led schools in tough areas, his schools that are now THE BEST in the country for social mobility. Incidentally, he's a muslim. What bit do you think the Telegraph decided to focus on? Utterly disgraceful.

I’ve been reading through Tweets to try and work this out for myself. The problem with rightwing accounts is that they don’t really tell you what they are cross about. Just that they hate the Government and they have been covering things up.
From what I can discern, this is what they are angry about..
1. That the police knew the evil murderer had an Al Qaeda manual and was making ricin soon after the horrific crime. But they didn’t reveal it to the public until the end of October.
2. That they believe the crime was an act of terrorism. Even though it does not meet the criteria for this under English law. I’m not even sure why this is so important to be honest.
3. That there wicked criminal was reported to Prevent 3 times but this was not revealed to the public until after his guilty plea.
4. That information about his religion and family history is still being “covered up”. I assume this is because the truth does not fit with their bigoted viewpoint.

NEW: British infrastructure projects waste billions on fish discos and bat tunnels because of dumb environmental rules.
These rules make it harder to build new infrastructure, but do almost nothing for nature.

Why are campaigners allowed to write news headlines?
Hinkley Point will have a net biodiversity gain for wildlife. It will not “decimate” fish stocks just because a “wildlife campaigner” says so.

Headline is misleading. From the article itself:
"Proposals for the sea-water cooling system at Hinkley Point C will see 44 tonnes of fish ingested and killed every year.
For comparison, fishing vessels at Newlyn, in Cornwall, landed 1,700 tonnes in the month of July alone."
