Super fast Arduino build system in the July 2024 release of Visual Micro. Library discovery the 'Arduino Way', but faster. It was fustrating when slight code changes caused a library search during compliation. visualmicro.com/

Gotta give these guys a shout out.....Visual Micro is a plugin for Visual Studio that allows you to develop, compile & upload Arduino sketches right within VS. Never need to open the Arduino IDE again!
I tried it a few years ago and it was pretty buggy......but now, under VS 2022, it's easy to install and get running even with my biggest Arduino project which consists of over 8 libraries loaded. I didn't need to tweak 1 line of my original code!
Welcome my Arduino projects to an advanced professional IDE.....at long last!

Thanks @EspressifSystem for the really great online docs! 🥰 In particular this heap debug. Looks like @visualmicro turned this on for me automatically with the verbose debugging mode. Wonder how long it would have taken me to otherwise detect problem.

TIL the Espressif #ESP32 has a background heap monitor in place. The bad thing is I have a heap problem. 😬🧐
C/C++ memory management is always a pain. Perhaps I should have written this in C# with the @nanoFramework

I have this new blog on burning the bootloader for the @arduino MKR WiFI 1010 from Visual Studio with Atmel Ice and the @visualmicro extension, because yes: sometimes I really *do* want to burn a fresh bootloader.

This is just excellent! 😎After loading the Wi-Fi client, SPI, RFID, *and SSL* libraries.... I still have over 200KB heap space free on my new @thingpulse #ESP32 board when connecting to the GitHub API over SSL/TLS using the @visualmicro #Arduino IDE in Visual Studio.👍
