I've been working full time for 6 weeks now along side my part time #phd and it's time to make a plan.
So I want to hear from all you working phd researchers - how do you manage it? How do we get it #PhDone?

I think that's a really good observation - it's such an interesting space to work in right now. And #COVID19 has made #scicomm more topical than it might have been otherwise. #VirtualNotViral #MyScienceMay

I don't have scientifically backed tips, but I'm a big believer in finding some role models and I'd start with @melaniefinch_ who has done an amazing job sharing her research on TikTok with video abstracts and she's a great person to look to for inspo #VirtualNotViral

I track several academic journals oscience and the pubiuc, the citizen scientist etc. eg Public Understanding of Science. Query - how do we speak to scientists about our work with the public? #VirtualNotViral

I think a great hook to grab the audiences attention at the beginning is also essential, and presenting your ideas in a narrative format. We find the ABT a useful tool for presenting ideas in narrative format youtube.com/watch?v=ungl-joz…

Excellent #VirtualNotViral question! I think considering your audience is the most important. Putting them at the centre, and ideally helping them to solve a problem can make for some great #SciComm
What do you think #MyScienceMay team?

I would love to talk! It's not an area I have any expertise in (my blog is topics I study up on and then talk about on @breakfasters). But I'd love to learn more.
