The rising utility costs that are driving residents out of New York are the direct result of mandates and taxes imposed by the Governor and Democratic controlled legislature. Albany’s mandates have consistently increased the cost of living in New York and we need new leadership to put our state on a corrective course. The evidence is clear when the state is sitting on a massive $2.4 billion “Energy Tax” surplus that is waiting to be utilized on whatever pet project the Governor deems fit instead of returning it to the ratepayers.

I miss the cops. I miss the experiences. I don’t miss the politics of the job. It was an honor to have served and I’d do it all over again.

NYPD Sergeant Ruben Cespedes has spent his adult life putting himself in harm’s way to protect others.
Nearly 17 years ago, while serving in Afghanistan with the U.S. Army, he was seriously wounded by an IED, but continued fighting to protect the soldiers beside him.
Last week, he was finally presented with the Purple Heart he earned that night.
He later brought that same courage and commitment to the NYPD, where he has also earned the Medal for Valor.
This is the nobility of policing. Congratulations, Sergeant Cespedes.
