We're excited to announce our partnership with @EmotiBit for #UIST2026 Student Innovation Contest.
Students in SIC will work with EmotiBit wearable sensor modules to capture high-quality emotional, physiological, and movement data. CFP will be released in late April. Stay tuned!
I successfully defended my Robotics PhD Thesis "Sensorimotor-Aligned Design for Pareto-Efficient Haptic Immersion in XR"!
I am deeply grateful to my incredible committee members: Prof. Jim McCann, Prof. @fzeyneptemel, Dr. @twi_mar, and the best advisor, Prof. @hciprof.
At #UIST2025, I’ll be presenting Kinethreads: Soft Full-Body Haptic Exosuit using Low-Cost Motor Pulley Mechanisms!
I’m the FIRST talk of Mon (after the keynote, 11 AM Grand Ballroom), and check out my demo Mon night :)

As of today, I am an Assistant Teaching Professor in the Entertainment Technology Center, an oddball department here at CMU!
I can’t really find the words to express my excitement and gratitude. I'm so happy to have found this non-traditional academic role that fits me so well :)
I didn't want to be a research faculty/run my own lab, but I also didn't want to leave the world of academia entirely. I'm really excited to jump into this third option at a wonderful place like the ETC!
Thank you to my family, friends, partner, and labmates for all their incredible support, which has made this journey so full of happiness.
And thanks to @hciprof, the best advisor, for always encouraging my ideas and helping me grow. Now Pittsburgh will never be rid of me!
Thanks for the feature! Check out my 3 minute presentation here:
