Honored to moderate the panel “Will #AI and #Humanoids Replace Us? The Future of Work and Robotics” hosted by Harvard Business School Club of DC – at Washington, DC
Joke:
AI is already approaching PhD-level intelligence.
The next milestone is expected to be reaching the intelligence level of a person who decided not to do a PhD.
ON TAXING STOCK-BACKED LOANS
I disagree with taxing loans collateralized by stock — an idea voiced by many public speakers, including @friedberg , among others. It contradicts basic economics.
When stocks rise, everything seems fine. But when the collateral declines, the borrower repays the principal out of his own pocket - after having already paid tax on money he never earned.
A loan is not income: the funds received are fully offset by the obligation to repay them (Haig-Simons). Tax income - not loan principal, not collateral
Unfortunately, Ukraine is losing the innovation race to Russia.
As of August 2026, Russia has moved jet-powered drones into mass production. All previous propeller-based anti-drone systems are now ineffective.
I warned about this in my May 2026 War on the Rocks article, "Cheap Missiles, Not Drones, Will Win the Next Air War":
warontherocks.com/cogs-of-wa…
Sadly, this is not the first time. Ukraine already missed a similar moment with fiber-optic drones in 2024, when Russia scaled the technology first and pulled ahead.
The pattern is systemic — and that's exactly why my viral article "Ukraine Isn't the Model for Winning the Innovation War" remains just as relevant today:

How many more technological windows will be missed before the system itself changes?
#DefenseTech #Ukraine #Drones #Autonomy
It’s an honor to be quoted by Frank Kendall, former Secretary of the Air Force and former Under Secretary of Defense, in his book “Lethal Autonomy”!
#Ukraine #Defense #crisis
Over the past 3 days, I gave 6 off-the-record briefings to journalists from top-tier US and European outlets on the unfolding crisis in Ukraine’s defense innovation sector.
Frankly, I was surprised by how superficial the understanding of the situation in Ukraine is.
That’s dangerous - for continued support for Ukraine and for the West’s own resilience against Russia.
Very contrarian prediction:
Growing defense independence from the US among 3-4 key EU countries could lead to the breakup of the EU within 10-15 years.
For these key countries (Germany, France, Poland, the UK), it may simply stop making sense to carry the security burden of the rest of the EU - countries whose elites have been weakened and corrupted by Russia and China.
Are Ukrainian #Drone Companies Mechanical Turks?
I sat in 15 due diligence processes on Ukrainian defense startups.
Only one deal closed.
aiautonomousnavigation.subst…
Millions of people are prompting and automating nearly identical workflows.
Don’t you think it’s a massive waste of their time?
I believe the next generation of LLMs will understand context and goals far better—generating the most relevant, efficient workflow automatically, with no human intervention.
Looks like prompting and workflow automation are already legacy skills.
#USA #DEFENSE #ITAR #EUROPE
Unfortunately, unlike their civilian-tech counterparts, defense startup founders from #Europe and #Ukraine no longer treat the United States as the default global platform for building their companies.
If this trend holds, the U.S. risks losing its leadership in defense innovation - and its position in the markets of the future. cepa.org/article/why-defense…
#Drones #Autonomy #Navigation
3D Mapping coupled with Visual Navigation are critical elements for #autonomousnavigation.
The "democratization" of #jamming and #spoofing tools makes remote-controlled drones and UGVs obsolete for logistics, homeland security, dual use, etc.
Ukraine and Iran prove that :(
Sharing the first video of the 3D Navigation and Map Crowdsourcing system we are building @A19Lab, which will be crucial for future drone and UGV systems in 1-2 years.

Sold-out Ukrainian Symposium.
Moderated a panel on Ukraine’s reconstruction
Looking at everything happening in the world, I’m more and more convinced every day that my decision to move to the U.S. in 2012 was the right long-term choice.
The USA is the best country to live in and invest your time and talent in for the long term!
#SaaS startups = investors #SCAM?
Unfortunately, many SaaS startups are starting to look like investor scams: they burn investors’ money building source code (a commodity) and buying leads—creating brutal, often unwinnable competition.
Some try to pivot by promising a move to OpenClaw, but that’s a mirage. Corporations can already build the same capabilities in-house.
I think the only SaaS niche that will remain defensible is one where all users benefit from a shared, continuously updated knowledge base.
Everything else will get replaced by locally run LLM copies, using open-source analogs as a verified “reference design.”
Proud to contribute to #NATO’s NextGen Information Environment report!

This weekend I went back to my engineering hacker roots 🙂
Spent it with OpenClaw, Antigravity by Google, etc.
Felt like I was 16–20 again 😄
…but with Coke Zero vibes 😅
Main takeaway:
If you have no plan to cut 80% of software engineering, management, and ops work through automation, you’re probably listening to outdated tech advisors.
Feels like the only real long-term limit to replacing humans with AI from workflows is how much complexity the human brain can hold.
