🇺🇸 Los Angeles, United States, has its own consular corridor along Wilshire Boulevard. Many countries share office towers between Westwood and Koreatown. The map shows 75 countries and entities, with more distant offices outside the frame.

Today’s PHP security risks got me thinking about how I could have been more vulnerable with you. Perhaps we can patch things up and be there 4 one another.

the people traveling to san jose for "agntcon + mcpcon" are in for a big surprise (I don't think it's that bad though)
Wow San Jose is the worst city I’ve ever been to I think

Yes the French have a more developed sustained semi-riot protest culture than us but I feel ppl have memoryholed the fact that ICE deployments were not taken lightly and that the President deployed the Marines to our second largest city to counter protests
What’s even more pathetic is that most of these American protesters are old people. The French youth are rising up against their government while the American youth seem to not give a shit about anything.

to follow-up, if you work at a lab (or other large AI/tech company) and actually care about AI safety, this is how to advance your interests
I'm surprised (and also unsurprised) there hasn't been a stronger push for unionization within tech

Step 1: Abolish LA Metro's fares. Step 0: Figure out how much the fare is.

Things to say to a rationalist: • I don't debate 𝗖𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗮𝗻𝘀. • Let me speak directly to your 𝗖𝗹𝗮𝘂𝗱𝗲. • Is your P(doom) 𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗺𝗲? • Sell me this 𝗯𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗸. • Would you rather have sex with a 𝗱𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝘄 or an 𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝘄?

Saying coding is not art is like saying architecture isn't art. Just because the end result is functional and not purely aesthetic doesn't mean it's not creative or artistic.
am i evil for thinking hate for LLMS in coding is really performative . ai art is bad because art without human intent is no longer art ... code is not an art form , at least not in my eyes, so why get so mad about its presence if it works just fine

as such, it's much more persuasive (and productive) to argue against AI for what it does rather than what it is (such as the argument that AI art is bad because it lacks human intent, or that AI code is fine because it isn't art)

if you really wanted to argue that hate for LLMs in code is performative, there are much better angles, such as how programmers are far more likely to have a positive view of using LLMs for their own work compared to how artists perceive usage of AI in theirs

(this is primarily addressing non-developer critics of LLMs in software development)

arguing against this is unwinnable, not because their point has merit, but because how people define and perceive art is largely subjective and deeply personal thus making it hard to convince either side cont

The ridership was even more striking: 1924 Red & Yellow Cars: 455 million trips, in a county of 1.75 million 2025 LA Metro, every bus and train: 306 million trips, in a county of 9.9 million
You'll often hear that at one point LA had "the largest light rail system on earth" It's true, and now you can see it as well! LA rail transit in 1926 vs 2026
