So a casual search of X for @AerLingus refunds suggests they take a systematic approach to not refunding folk. I get cash flow but being systematic in pretending you have issues making payments like this is disingenuous

It’s crazy to me people still don’t do grocery delivery in 2024. It’s like $5. Minimum wage is a higher dollar per hour.

WTAF @EDI_Airport for your unsignposted, open to the rain shambolic pickup arrangements - it's been 4 months at least and as the first contact experience for visitors to Edinburgh, it's a shameful greeting. Almost as bad as the taxi queue.

One of the wisest of us - a sad loss - rest easy now🥃
In August I was diagnosed with 2 brain tumours. Don’t know how long I’ve got but living each day as it comes. I’m positive but there’s no way out. I’m posting this as a reminder that life is precious and can be perilously short.

I have a suspicion that Sainsbury's believe the only effect of "nectar pricing" is to make people sign up for nectar. It's the reason I rarely shop at Tesco, and I am interested to see how widespread this becomes.

I also accept I may be in a tiny majority that don't wish to trade data for offers - and maybe only a tinier proportion who take some offense. 😀

Look @Windows - firstly, how dare you use your update to reinstate your bing search bar on my task bar, but to rub salt into the wounds use it to try to peddle Mothers Day gifts. FFS Have some sensitivity, both to whose computer this is, and for us without Mothers.

Same goes for Edge. If every Edge update re-instates your "content", and your attempt to switch browser default, you're eventually gonna push me a SteamDeck plus a Chromebook. FFS remember what the "P" in "PC" stands for - it's mine (personal), not yours.

I wonder if @virginmedia were ever going to notify us that the landline had been switched over to VoIP, or just rely on me finding out by accident. Probably been cut off for days, making me really wonder if the £17 pm is worth it...

Who really needs a landline these days - especially as they basically aren't any actual (physical) service any more - how can the charge to offer a VoIP landline (which is what happens) be any more than - say - monthly charge for Discord 🤔💭

Liz Truss can make a comeback but I can’t? I was an Office Assistant for 50x the time she spent as the UK’s Prime Minister! And I’m 50x more useful, too.

PSA: Don't by Neff or Bosch Gas Hobs - gas burner starters seem designed to fail around 1yr after warranty expires. Lesson learned!

I have to say, I was surprised by some of the things I learned writing this. For example, did you know ESB Networks quietly started monitoring every smart meter-connected house at 30 minute intervals in October? thegist.ie/the-gist-how-smar…
